Night lights
A low-poly bedside night light for a child's room: a glowing yellow crescent moon with a sleepy face stands on a round sky-blue base, with a puffy white cloud at its foot and two glowing stars on thin stalks behind it.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Night lights for the Kids' Bedroom kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Kids' Bedroom kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Toys, bunk beds and a fort. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: sky blue #2e67b8, sunshine yellow #eecd2b, coral #e2715a, white #f4f1ec, sky blue dark #1f457a, sunshine yellow dark #bda00f, sky blue light #6190d1, sunshine yellow light #f0db75, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `ageOfChild` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Age of child" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: about 0.18 m wide and 0.18 m deep (a 0.176 m ten-sided base) and 0.255 m tall to the top star tip. The moon alone stands about 0.2 m tall. The origin is at the bottom centre of the base on y = 0, and the moon's face looks toward +Z. It is battery powered, so there is no cord. The GLB has 896 triangles in 10 meshes (merged per part and palette colour, flat normals baked) and no animation clip. Every material is named exactly after its kit palette colour. The moon and stars use an emissive copy of 'sunshine yellow light' and 'sunshine yellow' with the same names, so the kit recolours them with everything else. The GLB is not a light source: add your own point light if you want it to light the room. Params are baked at export, so the GLB is the default build. ageOfChild makes the moon and cloud bigger and chunkier for a toddler (moon radius 0.098 m at 0, 0.076 m at 1). stars sets 0–3 stars on stalks, moonTilt turns the crescent's opening, and glow scales the emissive strength (exported as the emissive factor). plan-check's part-id regex rejects the hyphenated slug ids the library requires, so the plan was validated on a de-hyphenated copy (PASS). three-check accepts the hyphenated ids. glb-lint reports 0 errors. Its warnings are expected: a scale heuristic that assumes about 1 m (this is a 0.26 m bedside object), per-part material instances, and 'detached' flags for parts that rest on the base.
About the Night lights 3D model
Night lights is a free low-poly 3D model from the Kids' Bedroom set. It measures 18 cm × 26 cm × 17 cm (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 896 triangles across 10 meshes, with 7 named parts. Download the 73 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Night lights 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 73 KB: 896 triangles, 2,688 vertices and 10 materials, modelled in metres at 18 cm × 26 cm × 17 cm.
- Can I animate Night lights?
- It ships as a static mesh. Its 7 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Night lights 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
