Tripods

A low-poly ancient Greek votive tripod: a deep bronze cauldron with two upright ring handles, held high on three slender lion-pawed legs and standing on a square marble pedestal. One knob brings back the ancient blue and red paint on the marble.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Tripods for the Greek Acropolis kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Greek Acropolis kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): White temples on a rocky hill. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: marble #e8e6e3, aegean blue #2e67b8, olive green #3a883a, terracotta #be5937, marble dark #c6bfb9, aegean blue dark #1f457a, marble light #f8f7f7, aegean blue light #6190d1, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `paintedOrBareMarble` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Painted or bare marble" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

  • Lion-paw feet

  • Ring handles

Note: Size: 1.42 m wide (X) × 1.42 m deep (Z) × 2.22 m tall to the top of the ring handles. The marble pedestal is 0.5 m high, the cauldron rim sits at 1.8 m and is 0.76 m across, and the bowl is 0.4 m deep. The origin is at the bottom centre, the pedestal footing rests on y = 0 and the front faces +Z: two legs straddle the front, one is at the back, and the two ring handles face front and back. The GLB has 1,276 triangles in 12 meshes. It is static and carries no animation clip. three-check's figure of 1,566 includes the viewer's staging ground, which is not exported. The kit palette has no bronze, so terracotta stands in for it. Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour, and at the default 6 of the 12 are used. The exporter writes one material per mesh, so a colour name can appear on several materials; recolour by name. paintedOrBareMarble (the kit's 'Painted or bare marble' knob) only affects the pedestal. 0 is all bare marble. From 0.25 the four die panels are aegean blue, and from 0.5 the moulding under the cap is terracotta (at the default 0.5, both are painted). From 0.75 the footing's top band is aegean blue dark. legHeight sets the distance from the pedestal to the rim, from 1.0 to 1.6 m. cauldronWidth sets the rim diameter, and the bowl depth, leg splay and pedestal size follow it. handleCount 3 puts a handle over each leg. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and change the geometry only when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. Only the default was rendered and checked; the extremes were not. The bowl is a real open vessel with a 2 cm wall and a sooted interior, not a capped solid. glb-lint: 0 errors and 6 expected warnings. They are: duplicate same-named materials from the per-mesh export (hence 12 materials, over the direction's 10); deliberately non-indexed geometry for hard flat facets; nested siblings (panels and moulding on the die, the inner skin inside the bowl); legs, struts and handles flagged 'detached' because they touch other parts (the feet and the cauldron rim), not their siblings; and a 2.2 m height against the direction's 1 m reference height. Its verdict line reads UNVERIFIED only because no requirements contract was supplied. plan-check rejects only the hyphenated library part ids, because its regex allows no hyphen; the same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. three-check and the GLB reload keep all 7 ids.

About the Tripods 3D model

Tripods is a free low-poly 3D model from the Greek Acropolis set. It measures 1.4 m × 2.2 m × 1.4 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 1,276 triangles across 12 meshes, with 7 named parts. Download the 100 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Tripods 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 100 KB: 1,276 triangles, 3,828 vertices and 12 materials, modelled in metres at 1.4 m × 2.2 m × 1.4 m.
Can I animate Tripods?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 7 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Tripods 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
