Potter's wheel
A low-poly ancient Greek potter's wheel: a heavy dark wood disc with grip pegs and a painted blue rim turns on a stepped marble plinth, carrying a terracotta amphora mid-throw, with a water bowl and clay lump beside it. It has a seamless 6 s loop in which the wheel and pot turn twice.

Left rail: colours and the 4 knobs the agent wrote into this model — they rebuild the geometry and go into your download. Right rail: looks for the viewer. Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Potter's wheel for the Greek Acropolis kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. It moves: author a seamless baked loop (2–12 s) with every pivot exactly at its hinge, axle or swivel, and keep the base still. This is one part of the Greek Acropolis kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): White temples on a rocky hill. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: marble #e8e6e3, aegean blue #2e67b8, olive green #3a883a, terracotta #be5937, marble dark #c6bfb9, aegean blue dark #1f457a, marble light #f8f7f7, aegean blue light #6190d1, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `paintedOrBareMarble` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Painted or bare marble" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 0.80 m × 0.80 m footprint (the marble plinth) and 0.62 m tall to the amphora's lip. The wheel disc is 0.68 m across with its top at 0.36 m, a knee-height wheel turned by hand. The origin is at the bottom centre, the plinth rests on y = 0 and the front faces +Z. The GLB has 1,408 triangles in 16 meshes. three-check's 1,718-triangle figure includes the viewer's staging ground, which is not exported. Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour, and 9 of the 12 are used (not olive green, aegean blue dark or warm white). The exporter writes one material per mesh, so a name can repeat: recolour by name. Hierarchy: the pot is a child of the wheel. The baked clip scene-motion (6 s, seamless) turns only the wheel group, 2 whole turns about the vertical axle at x = z = 0, with its pivot on the socket bearing at y = 0.29. The pot turns with it. The plinth, socket, bowl and clay lump never move. Because three-check exports after its determinism seek, the static node pose in the GLB is the t = 2 s pose, which is a different angle of the same symmetric wheel. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change the model when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. paintedOrBareMarble (the kit's 'Painted or bare marble') adds 0 to 7 aegean blue frieze blocks on each face of the plinth's upper course, plus a terracotta fillet under them from 0.75; at 0 the marble is bare. wheelDiameter sets the disc from 0.55 to 0.80 m, potHeight sets the amphora from 0.14 to 0.30 m, and spinTurns sets 1 to 3 turns per loop. Only the default params were rendered and checked; the extremes were not captured. glb-lint: 0 errors and 4 heuristic warnings: material count, per-mesh duplicate materials, non-indexed geometry (deliberate flat shading), and nested overlaps where the frieze blocks and the bowl's water and band sit on their parent forms. The verdict reads UNVERIFIED only because no host requirements contract was supplied. plan-check passes except for its part-id regex, which rejects the hyphens in the slug-based ids this library requires; the same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. three-check accepts the real ids, and all 6 survive the GLB reload.
About the Potter's wheel 3D model
Potter's wheel is a free animated low-poly 3D model from the Greek Acropolis set. It measures 94 cm × 62 cm × 94 cm (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 1,408 triangles across 16 meshes, with 6 named parts and a baked animation (6.0 s). Download the 124 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Potter's wheel 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 124 KB: 1,408 triangles, 4,224 vertices and 16 materials, modelled in metres at 94 cm × 62 cm × 94 cm.
- Is Potter's wheel animated?
- Yes — the GLB carries a baked animation (6.0 s), ready to play with any glTF animation mixer.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Potter's wheel 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
