Keys

A bunch of three oversized skeleton keys and a little checker key tag threaded on one iron ring, lying on the floor. The keys are gold, lilac and soot black. Low-poly, flat-shaded, and built to the Dream Maze kit palette.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Keys for the Dream Maze kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Dream Maze kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Stairs that go nowhere and doors in the sky. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: lilac #b89fd1, cream #f1e7d0, checker black and white #f4f1ec, gold #d0a225, lilac dark #916bb8, cream dark #e0c994, lilac light #ded4e8, cream light #fbf9f4, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `gravityDirection` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Gravity direction" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Overall size 0.284 m wide × 0.052 m tall × 0.226 m deep. The gold key is 0.17 m long, the lilac key 0.133 m and the soot key 0.116 m. The ring is 0.09 m across. Each key stands on its edge, with the bottom of its bow and its stepped bit resting on y = 0. The ring passes through the bow holes and rests on their bottom edges. The origin is the centre of the footprint. Static model, no animation clip, 1028 triangles. Every material is named for its Dream Maze palette colour (cream, cream dark and warm white are not used). gravityDirection swings the whole bunch around the ring: 0 lays the keys toward the front (+Z), 0.5 to the right (+X) and 1 toward the back (−Z); the tag always hangs opposite. keyCount (1–3) drops the soot key and then the lilac key; the gold key stays. keyLength scales all three keys together. ringRadius sets the ring size. These params are baked into the exported GLB at their default values. Each part node carries its id in its name and in extras.partId. Each part also sits inside an identity-transform group named with a hyphen-free alias (for example dreammazekeys.gold.bow), which the kit's checker needs. glb-lint reported 0 errors. Its warnings are: 16 material slots (the exporter writes one per mesh, covering 9 unique palette names); non-indexed flat-shaded geometry; overlapping bounds for the two interleaved checker inlay meshes; shanks, collars and the ring flagged as 'detached' because their contact is with parts in other alias wrappers; and a 0.05 m height against the direction's 1 m reference height, which is real key scale.
