Hub room

An octagonal junction room from an abandoned space station, built as an open-top cutaway. It has hazard-framed blast doors in all four cardinal walls, red emergency beacons, a green-screened control core on a stepped dais, and a fallen ceiling girder.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Hub room for the Derelict Space Station kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Derelict Space Station kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): An abandoned station with failing power. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: gunmetal #454d54, emergency red #c32222, pale green #79af79, black #151619, gunmetal dark #22262a, emergency red dark #821717, gunmetal light #6d7378, emergency red light #db5757, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `powerState` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Power state" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Static environment piece. At default params it measures 11.48 m x 11.48 m across the corner columns (10 m between opposite inner wall faces) and 3.99 m tall, with a 3.4 m wall height. The origin is at the bottom centre on y = 0, and the front doorway faces +Z. It is an open-top cutaway with no ceiling slab: three overhead girders meet a hub ring, and the fourth girder lies fallen on the floor. Doorways are 1.8 m x 2.5 m. powerState (0-1) is baked into the export: it sets how many of the four wall light strips still work (dead ones are mid grey), sets the glow of the strips and green screens, and makes the red emergency beacons burn brighter as power fails. All of this goes through emissive on the 'warm white', 'pale green' and 'emergency red light' materials, so a re-export is needed to change it. doorOpen slides the blast-door leaves into the jambs, and each door opens a fixed, seeded share of that amount, so some look jammed. Part ids use the slug sanitized to derelictspacestationhubroom because the kit's part-id grammar does not allow hyphens. The exporter writes one material per part and colour, so the GLB lists 49 materials, but every one carries one of the 10 exact palette names above. The lint's material-count, duplicate-material, unindexed, overlap, detached-part and scale warnings are expected results of that, of the per-part grouping and of the real-world scale. Unused kit colours: black, dark wood. The GLB has no animation clips.
