Tool cases
A low-poly stack of two hard-shell tool cases from a derelict space station: a big gunmetal case under a red one whose lid hangs open on a foam tray holding a wrench, a hammer, a screwdriver and a socket rail. Both cases have corner guards, latches, side handles and a front charge meter that fades as station power fails.

Left rail: colours and the 3 knobs the agent wrote into this model — they rebuild the geometry and go into your download. Right rail: looks for the viewer. Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Tool cases for the Derelict Space Station kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Derelict Space Station kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): An abandoned station with failing power. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: gunmetal #454d54, emergency red #c32222, pale green #79af79, black #151619, gunmetal dark #22262a, emergency red dark #821717, gunmetal light #6d7378, emergency red light #db5757, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `powerState` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Power state" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Real scale: the bottom case is 0.64 × 0.30 × 0.42 m (W × H × D) and the top case is 0.54 × 0.22 × 0.36 m. The closed stack is 0.52 m tall and stands about 0.82 m high to the open lid corner. Overall footprint is about 0.73 m wide including the side handles and 0.50 m deep including the open lid. Origin is at the bottom centre, the front faces +Z, and the feet rest on y = 0. The exported GLB has 1,724 triangles across 10 palette colours, and every material is named exactly after its kit palette colour. The kit runtime clones materials per mesh on export, so the GLB holds 40 material slots that share these 10 names; recolouring by name still works. Flat faceted normals are baked into the mesh. The GLB is exported at the defaults: powerState 0.5, lidOpen 0.7 (about 77°; 1.0 is about 110° on the rear hinge axis) and caseCount 2. powerState sets how many of the five charge cells on each case are lit pale green (round(power × 5)). It also dims their glow and brightens the red fault lamp as power fails. caseCount 3 adds a gunmetal-light middle case (the only use of that palette colour), and 1 leaves a single large open red case. All three params are build-time: rebuild in the viewer and re-export to change them, and a downloaded GLB keeps the values it was exported with. The model is static, with no animation clip. glb-lint reports 0 errors and 4 heuristic warnings, all intended: material count and duplicates (the per-mesh clones), non-indexed geometry for flat facets, and sibling overlap from latches, bands and handles seated slightly into the shells. Only the root is declared in the design plan as toolcases, because the kit plan-checker does not accept hyphens in part ids; sub-parts use the library slug ids.
