Corridor modules

A low-poly straight corridor module for an abandoned space station: an octagonal hull with chunky bulkhead frames, a plated walkway, ribbed walls and pipes, ceiling and floor lights that fail with the station's power, a jammed blast door and a ceiling panel hanging loose.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Corridor modules for the Derelict Space Station kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Derelict Space Station kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): An abandoned station with failing power. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: gunmetal #454d54, emergency red #c32222, pale green #79af79, black #151619, gunmetal dark #22262a, emergency red dark #821717, gunmetal light #6d7378, emergency red light #db5757, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `powerState` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Power state" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 3.24 m wide x 3.5 m tall (to the beacon tops; hull 3.0 m, bulkhead frames 3.3 m) x 4.0 m long at the default length. Walkway clear width about 1.3 m, portal clear height about 2.45 m. Modular: the corridor runs along Z, length is 2-8 m in 2 m steps, the origin is the bottom centre and the flat underside rests on y = 0, so modules butt end to end. Front (+Z) is the open portal; the back frame holds a vertical blast door, and doorOpen lifts it from closed (a dead-end cap) to a 0.37 m crawl gap. powerState (the kit's Power state) picks which ceiling lamps and floor path strips are lit (warm white) or dead (soot black) in a fixed seeded order, sets the red emergency-light glow (stronger at low power) and turns the door status light green at 0.5 and above. Glow is the material's emissive factor, so it survives in the GLB. damage swings the loose ceiling plate down and adds the dangling cable above 0.12. Static asset, no animation clip. 1748 triangles. Every material is named exactly after its palette colour (11 distinct). The exporter clones a material per mesh, so the GLB lists 28 material entries sharing those 11 names; glb-lint flags this as a material-count and duplicate warning, not an error. Its other warnings are heuristics: embedded joins where frames, ribs and pipes overlap the hull on purpose, small fittings mounted on the hull, and the expected-1 m scale check against a 3.5 m structure. Part ids use the root 'corridormodules' because the kit's id validator does not allow hyphens. glb-lint reports 0 errors and 5 warnings. Its overall verdict reads UNVERIFIED only because no requirements contract was supplied.
