Breached hull section

A low-poly section of space station hull wall torn open by a decompression blowout: a jagged scorched breach with plating petals peeled outward, snapped ribs and torn live cables, held in a heavy hazard-striped frame on a short interior deck stub.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Breached hull section for the Derelict Space Station kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Derelict Space Station kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): An abandoned station with failing power. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: gunmetal #454d54, emergency red #c32222, pale green #79af79, black #151619, gunmetal dark #22262a, emergency red dark #821717, gunmetal light #6d7378, emergency red light #db5757, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `powerState` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Power state" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 4.06 m wide (4.0 m frame plus side cover plates) x 3.82 m tall (3.6 m frame, beacon on top) x 2.74 m deep (0.72 m frame, 1.6 m interior deck stub behind, torn petals and cables reaching 0.78 m in front). Origin is the bottom centre, resting on y = 0; the exterior hull face points +Z and the interior deck runs back along -Z. The breach is a real opening through both skins, so you can see through it from front and back. powerState (the kit's Power state) sets which interior light-strip segments are lit (warm white) or dead (soot black) in a fixed seeded order, makes the red beacon glow harder on low power, turns the interior status light green at 0.5 and above, and brightens the live cable ends. Glow is the material's emissive factor, so it survives in the GLB. breachSize is limited so the tear always stays inside the frame (at width 3 m it tops out near 1.0 m). Static asset with no animation clip. 2832 triangles in the GLB. Every material is named exactly after its palette colour (11 distinct names). The exporter clones a material per mesh, so the GLB has 28 material entries sharing those 11 names, and the live cable ends use a second 'emergency red light' with a different glow. Part ids use the root 'breachedhullsection' because the kit's part-id validator does not allow hyphens. glb-lint reports 0 errors and 5 heuristic warnings: material count and duplicates (the per-mesh clones), non-indexed extrusions, overlaps where frame, ribs and plates are embedded on purpose, and the expected-1 m scale check against a 3.8 m structure. Its overall verdict reads UNVERIFIED only because no requirements contract was supplied.
