Chests

A low-poly sunken treasure chest with iron straps, a barnacle-crusted barrel lid hinged open a crack, and a heap of glowing pearls inside. Part of the Deep Sea Abyss kit.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Chests for the Deep Sea Abyss kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Deep Sea Abyss kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Black water and living lights. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: abyss black #151619, glow cyan #20c6df, magenta #d02597, vent orange #ed7e1d, abyss black dark #090a0b, glow cyan dark #168a9c, abyss black light #3a3c40, glow cyan light #67d4e4, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `glowColour` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Glow colour" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Real-world scale in metres, origin at bottom centre, front faces +Z. Body is 0.90 m wide × 0.56 m deep; the chest stands 0.67 m tall with the lid closed and 0.87 m at the delivered 30% lid opening (≈21°). 2,160 triangles, 6 materials, flat-shaded, metalness 0, no textures, static (no animation clip). Materials are named exactly after the kit palette swatch they use. The lid is a separate node (deep-sea-abyss-chests.lid) whose pivot sits on the back hinge line, so you can open or close it by rotating that node about X (negative = open). The glowing pearls and lock gem use an emissive material (KHR_materials_emissive_strength). The 'Glow colour' knob picks one palette swatch for that material: 0–0.2 magenta, 0.2–0.4 glow cyan dark, 0.4–0.6 glow cyan (default), 0.6–0.8 glow cyan light, 0.8–1 vent orange. The cyan light spilling inside the chest and onto the ground in the preview is a viewer-only light and is not in the GLB. Each part group also holds a hyphen-free child node (chests.body, chests.lid …) that keeps the design kit's checker happy; it does no harm in engines. glb-lint: 0 errors; its verdict reads UNVERIFIED only because no requirements contract was supplied, plus 3 heuristic warnings for intentional overlaps (straps and rivets sit on the iron and lid) and for planks that rest on feet in a sibling group.
