Construction Worker

A full-body female construction worker, 1.70 m, in a neutral A-pose: white hard hat with safety glasses, orange hi-vis vest over a grey work shirt, tool belt, tan work trousers with knee pads and mud-caked steel-toe boots. Everything, geometry and PBR textures, is generated in code.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

A realistic full-body 3D character: a female construction worker in her mid 30s, muscular, 170 cm tall. Hazel eyes, a strong jaw, light olive skin with visible pores, dust on the cheeks and a sunburnt nose. Dark brown hair in a thick braid, modelled as hair cards, under a white hard hat with scuffs. Clothing: an orange hi-vis vest with reflective strips over a grey long-sleeve work shirt, a tool belt with a tape measure, hammer loop and pencil, tan work trousers with knee pads, steel-toe boots caked with dried mud, and clear safety glasses pushed up on the hat. Pose: neutral A-pose, arms at 45 degrees, fingers slightly spread, feet shoulder-width apart, neutral facial expression, mouth closed. Technical: 120,000 to 150,000 triangles total, with density concentrated in the face, hands and clothing folds. Clean quad-dominant topology with edge loops around the eyes, mouth, shoulders, elbows, knees and fingers so it deforms well when rigged. Separate meshes for body, eyes, teeth, hair and each clothing layer. Real-world scale in metres, origin at ground level between the feet. PBR textures at 4K: base colour, normal, roughness, metallic, ambient occlusion. No baked lighting or shadows in the base colour. No logos, brand names or readable text anywhere.

Note: Real triangle count 147,532 (glb-lint), 98% quad faces before triangulation (73,020 quads, 1,492 tris); density: ~30.7k tris in the head, ~22.2k in the hands. Body is one continuous mesh (Catmull-Clark cage shrink-wrapped to an analytic anatomy SDF) with a separately sculpted quad-grid head stitched at the neck, concentric edge loops round each eye and the mouth, loops at shoulders, elbows, knees and every finger joint; eyes are separate globes plus corneas, teeth sit behind closed lips. Clothing layers are separate offset shells with thickness, sculpted folds, hems, seams, snaps, buckle and zipper. Hair is alpha-tested hair cards with a three-strand braid. PBR maps (base colour, normal, roughness, metallic, AO) are painted procedurally per material at 4096x4096 in dist/textures-4k/<mesh>_<map>.png (13 texture sets, 65 PNGs); the GLB embeds 2048x2048 JPEG copies (hair base colour PNG for alpha) with AO/roughness/metal packed as ORM, model.glb 14.6 MB. Base colour carries no lighting; occlusion lives only in the AO map. No logos or text (tape measure has tick marks only). Honest limits: not scan fidelity: the face is an analytic sculpt and reads as a stylised-realistic person, not a photoreal likeness; skin renders slightly paler/creamier than a true light olive; pores, dust and sunburn are texture-level detail; hair is cards without strand simulation; folds are static sculpt, not cloth simulation; no rig, skin weights or blendshapes (static A-pose, evaluatePose is a no-op). The kit's part-id pattern forbids hyphens, so part ids use 'constructionworker.*' rather than 'construction-worker.*'. glb-lint warnings are deliberate overrides of the mannequin-figure base (17 materials vs default 6, 147.5k tris vs default 80k) recorded in design-plan.md direction3d_overrides; its UNVERIFIED verdict only means no requirements contract was supplied (0 errors). Overall height 1.70 m to the crown, 1.777 m including the hard hat.

About the Construction Worker 3D model

Construction Worker is a free realistic 3D model from the Characters set. It measures 1.3 m × 1.8 m × 37 cm (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 147,532 triangles across 17 meshes, with 17 named parts. Download the 14.3 MB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Construction Worker 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 14.3 MB: 147,532 triangles, 87,981 vertices and 17 materials, modelled in metres at 1.3 m × 1.8 m × 37 cm.
Can I animate Construction Worker?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 17 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Construction Worker 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
