Woman in Áo Dài
A full-body Vietnamese woman in a deep jade silk áo dài with draped split panels and wide white silk trousers, holding a nón lá at her side. Face, strand-clump hair, lotus embroidery and silk folds are modelled in geometry.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
A realistic full-body 3D character: a Vietnamese woman in her late 20s, slender, 162 cm tall, standing in a neutral A-pose. An oval face with soft cheekbones, dark almond-shaped eyes with natural lids and lashes, straight black eyebrows, a small nose, full lips with a calm, gentle expression; smooth light-tan skin. Long straight black hair falling past the shoulder blades, modelled as many individual strand clumps with a natural parting and a few loose strands framing the face. She wears a traditional áo dài: a fitted, high-collared (mandarin collar) silk tunic in deep jade green with long panels split from the waist that fall to below the knees front and back, softly draped with real fold geometry; delicate lotus-flower embroidery modelled in low relief on the front panel and collar; fitted long sleeves; a row of small fabric buttons from the collar to under the right arm; wide, flowing white silk trousers to the ankles; simple low-heeled sandals. In her right hand, held lightly at her side, a nón lá conical palm-leaf hat with visible concentric bamboo ribs, overlapping leaf layers and a thin silk chin ribbon; her left hand relaxed. Spend the triangle budget where it reads: the face (sculpted features, eyelids, lips, ears), hands with separated fingers and knuckles, hair strand clumps, silk fold geometry on the tunic panels and trousers, the embroidery relief and button details, and the hat's ribs and leaf layers. Respectful, natural and dignified — no stylisation, no text or logos.

Note: Realism pass (round 2) of a procedural character; scan-level realism is still not reached. FACE: the head is a signed-distance sculpt (lofted front/side/back profiles plus brow ridge, cheekbones, buccal fullness, jaw, nose with alae and nostrils, philtrum, lips with cupid's bow and tucked corners, chin pad, eyelids with upper-lid crease and pretarsal roll, caruncles, ears with helix/antihelix/tragus/concha) meshed by quad-only narrow-band surface nets at 0.85 mm on the face and 0.88 mm on the ears; it is not retopologised into hand-made edge loops, so loops around eyes and mouth are implicit rather than authored. Eyes are separate meshes: sclera with vein map and lid occlusion, a domed iris and pupil, a clear corneal shell and a tear-film wet line on both lid margins; 272 lashes and about 860 brow hairs are individual tapered tube geometry. Skin is a dielectric PBR material with shader-generated pores, T-zone roughness variation and a warm sheen lobe standing in for subsurface scattering; true SSS is not available in glTF/three.js standard materials. HAIR: a scalp cap bounded by the hairline plus about 1,120 tapered strand-clump ribbons (and about 190 hairline wisps and flyaways) grown from a slightly off-centre part, combed, collided with head, collar and shoulders, falling past the shoulder blades, with soft layering; strand detail comes from an alpha-tested strand texture (alphaTest 0.38) with a satin, anisotropic sheen. No simulation. TUNIC: the bodice and sleeves are one SDF surface with bust, shoulder and set-in sleeve volumes, elbow compression wrinkles, forearm twists and bodice drag lines; the front and back panels are separate silk sheets with ~1.1 mm thickness and rolled hems, split from the waist on both sides over the trousers, hanging in gravity folds that fan from the hip points with a slight flare and curled edges; the former white side block is gone. The lotus embroidery (open bloom, bud, two leaves with veins, stems) and two small collar lotuses are raised relief geometry; the diagonal closure to the right underarm carries 9 fabric buttons with loops plus 2 collar buttons. TROUSERS: wide white silk legs with long vertical folds and an irregular break over the instep; the hips are hidden by the panels. Hands are carried over from round 1 (five separated fingers with knuckles; finger roots are not welded into the palm). Feet have sculpted toes in low-heeled sandals with footbed, sole and two straps. Covered arms, legs and torso are not modelled as an unclothed body underneath the garments. Real measured GLB triangle count: 1,088,830; file size: 52943492 bytes. Textures are generated procedurally by seeded WebGL2 fragment shaders: 75 source maps at 4096×4096 PNG in textures-4k (basecolor, normal, roughness, metallic, ao for 15 roles); the GLB embeds 2048×2048 JPEG copies of the same shaders (hair base colour as PNG with alpha), with roughness/metallic/ao packed into the glTF ORM texture. Cornea and tear film are clear materials without maps. Height 1.62 m, feet on Y=0, +Y up, +Z front, static neutral A-pose, no rig or animation. Registered IDs use aodaiwoman.* because the kit validator forbids hyphens; the library slug stays ao-dai-woman. Three-check PASS. GLB lint: 0 errors and 5 warnings (material count and triangle budget above the mannequin-figure defaults, both declared overrides; the cornea and tear film nest inside the eye bounds by design; two heuristic overlap/detached-part notes); its verdict reads 'unverified' only because no requirements contract is supplied.
About the Woman in Áo Dài 3D model
Woman in Áo Dài is a free realistic 3D model from the Characters set. It measures 1.2 m × 1.6 m × 30 cm (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 1,088,830 triangles across 19 meshes, with 33 named parts. Download the 50.5 MB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Woman in Áo Dài 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 50.5 MB: 1,088,830 triangles, 613,410 vertices and 19 materials, modelled in metres at 1.2 m × 1.6 m × 30 cm.
- Can I animate Woman in Áo Dài?
- It ships as a static mesh. Its 33 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Woman in Áo Dài 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
