Barista

A slim young Korean barista in a neutral A-pose, wearing a charcoal canvas bib apron with a coffee-stained pocket over a white T-shirt, rolled black jeans and white canvas sneakers, with a folded towel tucked into the apron tie. Real-world scale, separate meshes per layer, procedural PBR textures.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

A realistic full-body 3D character: a Korean man in his mid 20s, slim, 176 cm tall. Dark brown monolid eyes, a clean-shaven face, light skin with visible pores and a faint flush on the cheeks. Black hair in a soft textured crop with a side part, modelled as hair cards. Clothing: a charcoal canvas bib apron with a coffee stain near the pocket over a white short-sleeve t-shirt, a thin silver ring on one finger, black slim jeans rolled at the ankle, white canvas sneakers, and a folded cloth towel tucked into the apron string. Pose: neutral A-pose, arms at 45 degrees, fingers slightly spread, feet shoulder-width apart, neutral facial expression, mouth closed. Technical: 120,000 to 150,000 triangles total, with density concentrated in the face, hands and clothing folds. Clean quad-dominant topology with edge loops around the eyes, mouth, shoulders, elbows, knees and fingers so it deforms well when rigged. Separate meshes for body, eyes, teeth, hair and each clothing layer. Real-world scale in metres, origin at ground level between the feet. PBR textures at 4K: base colour, normal, roughness, metallic, ambient occlusion. No baked lighting or shadows in the base colour. No logos, brand names or readable text anywhere.

Every source face is a quad (100% quad before triangulation for export); the body is one welded continuous mesh with concentric edge loops at the eyes, mouth and ears and ring loops at the shoulders, elbows, wrists, knees and every finger joint. Scale: metres, +Y up, faces +Z, origin between the feet, sneaker soles on y = 0; barefoot stature 1.763 m (the brief's 176 cm), 1.80 m to the top of the hair in sneakers. Textures: 4096x4096 PNG masters for every mesh in dist/textures-4k/<mesh>_{basecolor,normal,roughness,metallic,ao}.png (55 files), baked procedurally by tools/bake/bake.mjs (seeded noise, ray-cast AO, no lighting in base colour). The GLB embeds 2048x2048 copies: base colour and normal as JPEG, roughness/metallic/AO packed into one ORM JPEG per material, hair base colour as RGBA PNG for alpha-tested cards; dist/model.glb is 20.0 MB. Honest limits: the head is sculpted from analytic SDF primitives, so it reads as a believable young East Asian man with monolid eyes but not a scan-level likeness; skin pores, freckles and moles live in the textures and the face has no tear line or caruncle. Hair is static alpha-tested cards (alpha test loses some fine strands at distance); folds are sculpted, not simulated. The model is not rigged: there are no bones, skin weights or blend shapes (topology is prepared for rigging only). The full body is kept under the clothes. Small known artefacts: a little puckering where each sneaker's collar meets the throat, and soft lumps in the apron canvas around the pocket. glb-lint reports 0 errors and 4 advisory warnings: 13 materials (the runtime's exporter clones the one shared silver material for the apron hardware, eyelets and ring) and 149,880 triangles exceed the base mannequin-figure defaults; design-plan.md overrides both, but the linter does not read overrides. Params are UV-safe so the baked maps stay valid: height is a uniform scale, hair length rebuilds only the raw-UV cards, cuff roll post-warps only the turned-up cuff. No logos, brand names or readable text anywhere.

About the Barista 3D model

Barista is a free realistic 3D model from the Characters set. It measures 1.3 m × 1.8 m × 34 cm (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 149,880 triangles across 13 meshes, with 12 named parts. Download the 19.1 MB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Barista 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 19.1 MB: 149,880 triangles, 115,416 vertices and 13 materials, modelled in metres at 1.3 m × 1.8 m × 34 cm.
Can I animate Barista?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 12 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Barista 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
