Spinning wind mills

A whitewashed low-poly tower windmill for the Cloud Kingdom set: an octagonal stone plinth, a tapered tower with a wooden gallery, a sky-blue onion cap, four peach lattice sails and a small fantail. It ships with a seamless 8-second baked loop: the sails and fantail spin and the cap sways.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Spinning wind mills for the Cloud Kingdom kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. It moves: author a seamless baked loop (2–12 s) with every pivot exactly at its hinge, axle or swivel, and keep the base still. This is one part of the Cloud Kingdom kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Castles on clouds at sunrise. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: cloud white #f4f1ec, peach #ecb893, sky blue #2e67b8, gold #d0a225, cloud white dark #d7cebc, peach dark #e08d52, cloud white light #f9f8f6, peach light #f6e3d5, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `timeOfDay` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Time of day" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Real-world scale in metres: about 12.6 m wide (sail span at rest), 15.9 m tall at rest (sail tips sweep up to about 16.8 m), 9.1 m deep. The tower is 7.2 m on a 0.8 m plinth with a 2.7 m base radius, and the sails are 7 m long. Front faces +Z and the origin is at the bottom centre on y = 0. The 'scene-motion' clip (8 s, seamless) turns the sail rotor twice about the windshaft axis, which is tilted up 8 degrees and pivots at the hub. The fantail fan turns four times on its axle, and the cap sways plus or minus 4 degrees about the tower axis at the curb. The plinth, tower, door, windows and gallery never move. Every material is named after its Cloud Kingdom palette colour. The runtime exporter writes one material copy per mesh, so the GLB holds 23 material entries that share those 9 names (Blender may show suffixes like .001). Recolour by name. Geometry is non-indexed with face normals, so facets stay flat in any engine. Part ids use the root 'windmill' instead of the slug because the kit's plan validator does not allow hyphens in part ids. timeOfDay is a build-time knob: below 0.22 or above 0.78 the windows turn gold (lamps lit), otherwise they are soot black. The downloaded GLB is the default daytime state. sailCount changes how many sail parts exist (sail1..sailN). glb-lint: 0 errors and 6 non-blocking warnings (material copies, non-indexed flat geometry, intended overlapping joins, a 15.9 m scale against the 1 m reference). It reports UNVERIFIED overall because no requirements contract was supplied. 1948 triangles in the GLB.
