Rain barrels

A pair of low-poly staved rain barrels with gold hoops, brass spigots and an overflow hose, raised on a dark-wood plank stand and filled with sky-blue water. Part of the Cloud Kingdom kit.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Rain barrels for the Cloud Kingdom kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Cloud Kingdom kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Castles on clouds at sunrise. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: cloud white #f4f1ec, peach #ecb893, sky blue #2e67b8, gold #d0a225, cloud white dark #d7cebc, peach dark #e08d52, cloud white light #f9f8f6, peach light #f6e3d5, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `timeOfDay` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Time of day" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Static prop at default params: 1.24 m tall overall (0.90 m barrels, about 200 L each and 0.61 m across the belly, on a 0.34 m stand), 1.49 m wide and 0.74 m deep. Origin is at the bottom centre and the stand legs rest on y = 0. Front faces +Z, where the spigots are. 2,784 triangles at default; 4,256 at the maximum (3 barrels). Every GLB material is named exactly its Cloud Kingdom palette colour. Normals are baked per face so the facets survive in any engine, which is why the primitives are non-indexed. The exporter writes one material copy per mesh, so the same palette names repeat (14 material entries, 7 distinct colours); merge by name if your engine prefers. barrelCount (1–3) adds barrels along X, lengthens the stand and chains them with overflow hoses. barrelHeight scales the barrels; the stand height stays fixed. waterLevel moves the water surface from just above the floor to just under the rim. timeOfDay is viewer-only: it swings the sun from low peach dawn to warm-white morning to low peach-dark evening and changes nothing in the GLB. Part ids use the root 'rainbarrels' rather than the slug because the kit's part-id grammar does not allow hyphens. The hose ends and the hoops are deliberately embedded in the stave walls, and the barrels sit 2 mm into the deck.
