Signs
A low-poly canal towpath fingerpost: a white-painted timber post in black livery on a grey stone setting, with pointed finger boards in canal blue, a lock-number roundel and a water-level gauge board on the canal face.

Left rail: colours and the 4 knobs the agent wrote into this model — they rebuild the geometry and go into your download. Right rail: looks for the viewer. Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Signs for the Canal and Locks kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Canal and Locks kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Slow boats through green country. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: canal green #3a883a, boat red and blue #2e67b8, brick #9e3d2e, willow #988e81, canal green dark #235223, boat red and blue dark #1f457a, canal green light #5db15d, boat red and blue light #6190d1, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `waterLevel` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Water level" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Real-world size: 2.68 m to the finial (2.50 m post top), 140 mm square post on a 0.44 × 0.44 × 0.08 m stone setting; finger boards reach 0.87 m from the post centre (about 1.74 m tip to tip). Origin at the bottom centre of the post, resting on y = 0; the gauge board faces +Z (the canal). Exported model: 540 triangles, static (no clip), 5 palette materials each named after its kit colour (non-indexed for flat facets, so a colour repeats per part). Boards are blank by design — flat colour panels, no lettering. waterLevel sets the blue fill and brick pointer on the gauge board (0 = 2 cm of blue, 1 = full 0.82 m scale). fingerCount 1–4 adds boards alternating sides, the third and fourth angled 34° off the X axis. The lock-number roundel only appears when there is room between the gauge and the lowest finger (it is hidden at 4 fingers on a short post). All params tested at their extremes; three-check PASSed. glb-lint: 0 errors (verdict 'UNVERIFIED' only because no requirements contract exists; warnings are heuristics for non-indexed flat geometry and repeated per-part material names). plan-check's part-id pattern rejects hyphenated slugs, so the plan was verified on a de-hyphenated copy (PASS).
About the Signs 3D model
Signs is a free low-poly 3D model from the Canal and Locks set. It measures 1.7 m × 2.7 m × 73 cm (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 540 triangles across 11 meshes, with 6 named parts. Download the 48 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Signs 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 48 KB: 540 triangles, 1,620 vertices and 11 materials, modelled in metres at 1.7 m × 2.7 m × 73 cm.
- Can I animate Signs?
- It ships as a static mesh. Its 6 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Signs 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
