Aqueduct

A low-poly brick canal aqueduct: three round arches on piers with pointed stone cutwaters carry the canal in a brick trough, with a towpath, iron railing and white stone copings along the top.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Aqueduct for the Canal and Locks kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Canal and Locks kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Slow boats through green country. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: canal green #3a883a, boat red and blue #2e67b8, brick #9e3d2e, willow #988e81, canal green dark #235223, boat red and blue dark #1f457a, canal green light #5db15d, boat red and blue light #6190d1, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `waterLevel` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Water level" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 33 m long (three 6.4 m round arches at a 9 m pitch on 2.6 m piers, plus a solid abutment at each end) × 5.2 m wide structure (8.6 m across the cutwater footings) × 11.07 m tall to the railing top; the trough bed sits 8.9 m above the ground. Origin is at the bottom centre, footings rest on y = 0, the towpath side faces +Z. The canal runs along X and both ends are cut square on solid abutments so the piece meets other canal sections end to end. Static: no animation clip. The GLB has 1,876 triangles in 11 meshes (three-check's 2,166 includes the viewer's staging ground, which is not exported). Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour (8 of the 12 are used); the exporter writes one material per mesh, so a colour name can repeat — recolour by name. waterLevel (kit 'Water level') raises the canal in the trough from 0.25 m deep (0) to 0.15 m under the towpath kerb (1), and the algae line follows it. spans sets the number of arches (2–5, length changes by 9 m per arch); pierHeight sets the springing height (3–8 m) and so the overall height. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and change geometry only when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer; only the defaults were rendered and checked. glb-lint: verdict UNVERIFIED (no requirements contract supplied) with 0 errors and 6 expected warnings (11 materials vs the direction's 10 because of per-mesh same-named materials, deliberately non-indexed flat facets, the water ripples and algae lines nested in the water's bounds, string course / trough / copings / railing seated on a neighbouring part rather than a sibling mesh, and an 11 m height against the direction's 1 m reference). plan-check rejects only the hyphenated library part ids (its regex allows no hyphen); the same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes, and three-check and the GLB reload keep all 9 ids.

About the Aqueduct 3D model

Aqueduct is a free low-poly 3D model from the Canal and Locks set. It measures 33 m × 11 m × 8.6 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 1,876 triangles across 11 meshes, with 9 named parts. Download the 142 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Aqueduct 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 142 KB: 1,876 triangles, 5,628 vertices and 11 materials, modelled in metres at 33 m × 11 m × 8.6 m.
Can I animate Aqueduct?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 9 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Aqueduct 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
