Market square

A low-poly Aztec market square (tianguis) for the Aztec Temple City kit. It is a paved plaza on a low platform, walled on three sides and open at the front onto a stair. Stalls with red, turquoise and white awnings line the walls, a carved round stone sits on an altar at the crossing of white paths, and a pillared judges' pavilion stands at the back.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Market square for the Aztec Temple City kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Aztec Temple City kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): A city on a lake with stepped pyramids. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: stone grey #757e8a, turquoise #31c4b8, feather red #c32222, jade #389475, stone grey dark #525860, turquoise dark #22877e, stone grey light #a3a5a8, turquoise light #6dd5cc, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `carvingColour` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Carving colour" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: the platform is 28 m wide (x) and 24 m deep. The front stair projects about 1.35 m, so the footprint is 28 m by about 25.4 m. The platform is 0.6 m high, the perimeter wall stands 1.3 m above the paving, the awnings peak at about 3.7 m, and the judges' pavilion merlons top out at 5.47 m. The stair faces +Z, and the origin is at the bottom centre of the footprint, resting on y = 0. The exported model has 5,666 triangles in 51 meshes (merged per part and colour) and no animation clip. Normals are baked flat (non-indexed). All 12 kit colours are used, and every material is named exactly after its palette colour. The exporter writes one material per mesh, so the same colour name appears on several materials: recolour by name. carvingColour (the kit's 'Carving colour') repaints the wall frieze, the pavilion frieze, the stair-cheek caps and the altar's round stone, in steps: stone grey light (bare) → turquoise light → turquoise (default) → jade → feather red. The params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change geometry when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. width and depth resize the plaza, and stallsPerSide sets how many stalls line each side wall; stall widths shrink to fit, and the back row fills whatever room is left beside the pavilion. Only the defaults were rendered; the param extremes were checked by reading the layout limits, not by a capture. Goods are placed with a fixed seed, so every build is identical. There are no people. glb-lint: 0 errors and 6 heuristic warnings: material count and duplicates, unindexed geometry (flat shading on purpose), sibling overlap (bands and trims embedded on purpose), 'detached' crest, path, stall and mat meshes (each sits on or in the wall or paving of another part) and scale (compared with the direction's 1 m reference). plan-check passes except for its part-id regex, which rejects the hyphens this library's slug-based ids need; the same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. three-check accepts those ids, and all 13 survive the GLB reload. The ground disc in the preview is viewer staging and is not in the GLB.

About the Market square 3D model

Market square is a free low-poly 3D model from the Aztec Temple City set. It measures 28 m × 5.5 m × 25 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 5,666 triangles across 51 meshes, with 13 named parts. Download the 441 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Market square 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 441 KB: 5,666 triangles, 16,998 vertices and 51 materials, modelled in metres at 28 m × 5.5 m × 25 m.
Can I animate Market square?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 13 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Market square 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
