Sled crates
A low-poly polar freight sled for the Arctic Tundra kit: dark-wood runners with upturned tips on steel shoes, a slatted deck on stanchions, and a load of field crates (a wooden crate, an ice-blue equipment case, a slate case and a small box) lashed down with green straps, with a handlebar at the back and a tow bridle at the front.

Left rail: colours and the 4 knobs the agent wrote into this model — they rebuild the geometry and go into your download. Right rail: looks for the viewer. Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Sled crates for the Arctic Tundra kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Arctic Tundra kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Ice, wind and long light. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: ice blue #2e67b8, white #f4f1ec, slate #525e6f, aurora green #3a883a, ice blue dark #1f457a, white dark #d7cebc, ice blue light #6190d1, white light #f9f8f6, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `snowDepth` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Snow depth" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: the runners are 2.8 m long on a 0.82 m track; the deck is 0.34 m off the ground, the crate stack tops out at about 1.2 m and the handlebar sits at 1.05 m. With the handlebar and the tow bridle and ring lying ahead on the ground, the footprint is about 1.2 × 3.4 m. The origin is at the bottom centre of that footprint, the model rests on y = 0 (slate shoes) and the runner tips face +Z. The GLB has 1,608 triangles in 19 meshes, is static and carries no animation clip; three-check's 1,898-triangle figure includes the viewer's staging ground, which is not exported. Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour (9 of the 12 are used; slate also stands in for steel, and white light, warm white and ice blue light are not used). The exporter writes one material per mesh, so a colour name appears on several materials: recolour by name. snowDepth (the kit's 'Snow depth') thickens the snow pillows on the crate lids (1 to 8 cm); the pillows are split around the straps so the green lashing stays visible. sledLength stretches the runners and deck and adds stanchions and slats; below about 2.6 m the small back box no longer fits and is left off. crateCount loads 1–4 crates in order: wooden crate, ice-blue case, slate case stacked on the wooden crate, small wooden box. handleHeight raises the handlebar. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change geometry when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer; only the defaults were rendered and checked. The pale disc in the preview is viewer staging and is not in the GLB. glb-lint: 0 errors and 5 expected warnings: 19 materials against the direction's default of 10, and duplicate same-named materials, both from the per-mesh export (only 9 distinct colours), non-indexed geometry (deliberate hard flat-shaded facets), nested sibling boxes (battens, rims and straps on the crates), and two 'detached part' heuristics for the bow rod and the snow pillows, which rest on the runner tips and crate lids. plan-check rejects only the hyphenated library part ids, because its regex allows no hyphen; the same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. three-check and the GLB reload keep all 8 ids. The single fix round was framing only (tighter hero, looser top view).
About the Sled crates 3D model
Sled crates is a free low-poly 3D model from the Arctic Tundra set. It measures 1.2 m × 1.2 m × 3.4 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 1,608 triangles across 19 meshes, with 8 named parts. Download the 129 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Sled crates 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 129 KB: 1,608 triangles, 4,824 vertices and 19 materials, modelled in metres at 1.2 m × 1.2 m × 3.4 m.
- Can I animate Sled crates?
- It ships as a static mesh. Its 8 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Sled crates 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
