Hangars
A low-poly grass-strip hangar for light planes. It is a white steel shed under a faceted green barrel roof, with braced sliding doors part-open below an orange header beam, a glazed band over the doors, a lean-to office on one side, a concrete apron and a beacon on the roof.

Left rail: colours and the 4 knobs the agent wrote into this model — they rebuild the geometry and go into your download. Right rail: looks for the viewer. Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Hangars for the Airfield kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Airfield kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Small planes on a grass strip. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: grass green #3a883a, hangar white #f4f1ec, signal orange #ff851a, sky blue #2e67b8, grass green dark #235223, hangar white dark #d7cebc, grass green light #5db15d, hangar white light #f9f8f6, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `era` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Era" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 19.8 m wide (x), 17.0 m deep (z) and 9.0 m tall to the top of the roof beacon (default params). The hangar itself is a 16 m span and 14 m long (four 3.5 m bays). It is 4.6 m to the eaves under a 10-facet barrel roof that rises 3.2 m. The door opening is 14 m x 4 m, wide enough for a light single- or twin-engine plane. The lean-to office (3 m x 5.2 m) stands on the +x flank, and a 2.6 m concrete apron runs out in front, so the footprint is wider and deeper than the shed. The front faces +Z, the origin is at the bottom centre of the whole footprint, and the model rests on y = 0. The GLB has 2,584 triangles in 27 meshes (merged per part and colour) and stays under 3,400 at every param extreme. It has no animation clip. Normals are baked flat (non-indexed). Every material is named exactly after its kit palette colour. The exporter writes one material per mesh, so recolour by name. At the default era, hangar white light is not used; it appears only on the steel doors. There is no modelled interior: the door gap shows a dark recess 4 m deep. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change geometry when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. era (the kit's 'Era') swaps braced timber doors with multi-pane windows (below 0.6) for ribbed white steel doors with orange kick bands, single-mullion windows and rooflights (0.6 and above). span (12–20 m) sets the width and door opening, and the roof rise follows it at 20 %. bays (3–6) sets the length. doorsOpen slides the two centre leaves behind the outer pair, from shut (0) to a half-width opening (1). glb-lint: 0 errors and 5 heuristic warnings (material count, duplicate per-mesh materials, unindexed flat-shaded geometry, sibling overlap from trims embedded in walls on purpose, and scale compared with the direction's 1 m reference). plan-check passes except for its part-id regex, which rejects the hyphens this library's slug-based ids need. The same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. three-check accepts those ids, and all 10 survive the GLB reload.
About the Hangars 3D model
Hangars is a free low-poly 3D model from the Airfield set. It measures 20 m × 9.0 m × 17 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 2,584 triangles across 27 meshes, with 10 named parts. Download the 204 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Hangars 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 204 KB: 2,584 triangles, 7,752 vertices and 27 materials, modelled in metres at 20 m × 9.0 m × 17 m.
- Can I animate Hangars?
- It ships as a static mesh. Its 10 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Hangars 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
