Parachute packs

A low-poly set of airfield parachute packs: one back-type pack standing upright with its harness, leg loops and orange ripcord D-handle facing front, beside a stack of stowed packs lying harness-up on the grass.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Parachute packs for the Airfield kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Airfield kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Small planes on a grass strip. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: grass green #3a883a, hangar white #f4f1ec, signal orange #ff851a, sky blue #2e67b8, grass green dark #235223, hangar white dark #d7cebc, grass green light #5db15d, hangar white light #f9f8f6, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `era` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Era" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: about 0.9 m wide × 0.56 m deep × 0.55 m tall at default params. Each pack is 0.50 m tall, 0.36 m wide and 0.17 m deep, the size of a back-type pilot or paratrooper rig. The standing pack is 0.55 m tall including its carry handle, and the stack of two stowed packs is about 0.37 m. The origin is at the bottom centre on y = 0, and the standing pack's harness faces +Z. The GLB has 2,052 triangles in 75 meshes, is static and carries no animation clip. Normals are baked flat (non-indexed geometry). Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour. 6 of the 12 colours are used at the default era. The exporter writes one material per mesh, so a colour name appears on several materials: recolour by name. era (the kit's 'Era') follows the Airfield hangar's split. Below 0.6 (the default 0.5) the packs are olive and sand canvas with pale or olive webbing. From 0.6 up they become sky-blue modern containers with soot-black webbing and slightly slimmer depth (0.15 m). The orange ripcord handle stays at every era. packCount (2–4) sets the total number of packs: one standing plus a stack of 1–3 stowed packs. packHeight scales every pack, and its width follows at 0.72 × height. The GLB is baked at default params. The params only change geometry when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. Both extremes (era 1, 4 packs, 0.6 m, and era 0, 2 packs, 0.42 m) were built, and three-check passed on each. glb-lint: 0 errors and 4 expected warnings: material count, duplicate-named materials, non-indexed primitives, and nested siblings (the D-handle on its bar, straps wrapping the container). Its verdict reads UNVERIFIED only because no requirements contract was supplied. plan-check rejects the hyphens in the slug-based part ids this library requires; the same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. three-check, run with the real hyphenated ids, passes all 24 checks. Fix rounds: (1) the leg loops were pulled in from the pack edges, where they overhung, and the hero was widened so the stack is no longer cropped. (2) The stowed packs were sunk 6 mm deeper onto the webbing below, so the top pack doesn't look like it floats.

About the Parachute packs 3D model

Parachute packs is a free low-poly 3D model from the Airfield set. It measures 89 cm × 55 cm × 55 cm (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 2,052 triangles across 75 meshes, with 5 named parts. Download the 272 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Parachute packs 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 272 KB: 2,052 triangles, 6,156 vertices and 75 materials, modelled in metres at 89 cm × 55 cm × 55 cm.
Can I animate Parachute packs?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 5 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Parachute packs 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
