Control hut

A low-poly grass-strip control hut: a white lap-sided hut with an orange door and a railed flat roof, topped by a sky-blue glazed control cab under an orange-and-white chequered roof band, with an outside wooden stair, a beacon, a radio aerial and a striped windsock on a tall mast.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Control hut for the Airfield kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Airfield kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Small planes on a grass strip. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: grass green #3a883a, hangar white #f4f1ec, signal orange #ff851a, sky blue #2e67b8, grass green dark #235223, hangar white dark #d7cebc, grass green light #5db15d, hangar white light #f9f8f6, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `era` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Era" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: the hut is 4.4 m wide × 3.4 m deep with 2.6 m walls on a 0.2 m concrete slab. The roof deck is at 2.98 m and the glazed cab (2.3 × 2.1 m) is topped at about 4.9 m. With the outside stair on the +X side and the windsock mast at the back-left, the footprint is 8.1 × 5.0 m and the windsock mast's finial reaches 6.38 m, the full bounding-box height. The origin is at the bottom centre of the whole footprint, the model rests on y = 0, and the front (door, bench, cab front) faces +Z. era (the kit's 'Era') runs from a 1940s hut at 0 (upright cab glass, a short single-dipole aerial, a low anemometer) to a modern strip at 1 (cab glass raked 14° outward, a tall three-dipole mast, a higher anemometer). hutWidth, cabHeight and windsockHeight reshape the hut. At the lowest mast height combined with the tallest cab, the windsock hangs level with the cab roof. The params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change the geometry when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. The GLB has 4,434 triangles in 41 meshes and is static, with no animation clip. Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour, and all 12 kit colours are used. The exporter writes one material per mesh, so names repeat: recolour by name. The viewer's staging ground and light rig are not in the GLB. glb-lint reports 0 errors and 6 heuristic warnings, all expected: the material count and duplicates come from the per-part, per-colour meshes; the geometry is non-indexed on purpose for flat facets; the overlaps are siding and trim laid on the wall body; 'detached' flags parts that sit flush on another (roof membrane, railing, cab glass, bench); the height warning only compares against a 1 m reference. The verdict reads UNVERIFIED only because no requirements contract was supplied. plan-check rejects only the hyphenated library part ids, because its regex allows no hyphen. The same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. three-check keeps all part ids and passes at both param extremes.

About the Control hut 3D model

Control hut is a free low-poly 3D model from the Airfield set. It measures 8.1 m × 6.4 m × 5.0 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 4,434 triangles across 41 meshes, with 16 named parts. Download the 347 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Control hut 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 347 KB: 4,434 triangles, 13,302 vertices and 41 materials, modelled in metres at 8.1 m × 6.4 m × 5.0 m.
Can I animate Control hut?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 16 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Control hut 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
