Signs

A low-poly zoo direction signpost for the Zoo kit. A timber post on a stone footing carries three yellow arrow boards with paw, tree and water-drop pictograms, plus a framed habitat picture panel, with bushes or sand and rocks at its foot.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Signs for the Zoo kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Zoo kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Enclosures and winding paths. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: leaf green #3a883a, sand #d1bd94, timber #765232, sign yellow #eecd2b, leaf green dark #235223, sand dark #ba9c5e, leaf green light #5db15d, sand light #e6ddcb, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `habitatMix` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Habitat mix" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 2.61 m tall to the tip of the post cap, about 1.75 m wide across the arrow tips (x = -0.87 to +0.88) and 1.21 m deep with the planting (z = -0.65 to +0.57). The post is 0.14 m square, the arrow boards are 0.85 m long and 0.2 m tall, and the habitat panel is 0.76 x 0.48 m with its lower edge about 0.85 m above the ground. Origin: the foot of the post, at ground level. The model rests on y = 0, and the habitat panel faces the front (+Z). It is a static prop with no animation clip. The GLB has 768 triangles in 19 meshes. Every material is named exactly after a Zoo kit palette colour (10 of the 12 are used; sand and sand light are not). The exporter writes one material per mesh, so a colour name appears on more than one material: recolour by name. The pictograms are modelled geometry that passes through each board, so they read on both faces. There is no text. habitatMix (the kit's 'Habitat mix') sets the planting in six spots around the footing: 0 gives sand mounds with grey rocks, 1 gives leafy bushes, and 0.5 gives about half of each. postHeight, armCount (1–4 boards; a fourth points to the aquarium with a fish pictogram) and armLength rebuild the sign, and the panel always stays below the lowest board. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change the geometry when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. The defaults were fully checked, and both extremes were rendered and look valid. Part ids use the root 'zoosigns' (no hyphen) because the kit's plan-check part-id rule does not allow hyphens; the library slug is still zoo-signs. glb-lint: 0 errors and 5 expected warnings: 19 per-mesh materials sharing 10 colour names; non-indexed geometry (deliberate hard flat-shaded facets); overlapping sibling boxes (arrow boards, rims, pictograms and collars nest by design); and a 2.61 m height against the direction's 1 m reference height. The lint verdict is UNVERIFIED only because no requirements contract was supplied. Viewer exposure is 0.72 (lowered from the direction's 1.05 so the kit colours don't wash out). That is staging only and not part of the GLB. A faint vertical highlight on the panel face in the viewer is the studio environment reflecting off it, not geometry.

About the Signs 3D model

Signs is a free low-poly 3D model from the Zoo set. It measures 1.7 m × 2.6 m × 1.2 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 768 triangles across 19 meshes, with 14 named parts. Download the 71 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Signs 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 71 KB: 768 triangles, 2,304 vertices and 19 materials, modelled in metres at 1.7 m × 2.6 m × 1.2 m.
Can I animate Signs?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 14 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Signs 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
