Benches
A low-poly timber park bench for the Zoo kit, with four seat slats and a raked three-slat backrest between chunky dark-wood end frames. It has timber armrests, grey concrete footings and a small yellow plaque, with grass tufts or pebbles at its feet.

Left rail: colours and the 4 knobs the agent wrote into this model — they rebuild the geometry and go into your download. Right rail: looks for the viewer. Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Benches for the Zoo kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Zoo kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Enclosures and winding paths. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: leaf green #3a883a, sand #d1bd94, timber #765232, sign yellow #eecd2b, leaf green dark #235223, sand dark #ba9c5e, leaf green light #5db15d, sand light #e6ddcb, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `habitatMix` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Habitat mix" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 1.88 m long over the footings (1.85 m over the armrests, 1.8 m over the end frames), 0.60 m deep and 0.90 m tall. The seat is 0.45 m high and the armrests are 0.67 m high. The habitat dressing reaches about 1.08 m from centre on each side. The front faces +Z, and the origin is at the bottom centre of the bench itself (not its dressing), so it stays put as habitatMix changes. Everything rests on y = 0: the legs stand 5 cm deep in their concrete footings, and the tufts and pebbles sit on the ground. The exported model has 388 triangles in 10 meshes (one mesh per part per colour). Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour; 7 of the 12 are used. The exporter gives each mesh its own material copy, so timber and dark wood each appear on more than one material under the same name: recolour by name. The model is static, with no animation clip. habitatMix (the kit's 'Habitat mix') trades sand-dark pebbles for grass tufts at the feet, slot by slot: 0 gives eight pebbles, 1 gives eight tufts, 0.5 gives half of each. At 0 or 1, one habitat colour drops out of the GLB. length rebuilds the bench; from 2.1 m a third, armless centre frame is added under the seat. seatSlats sets the number of seat boards and backTilt the backrest rake. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change the model when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. All-max (2.6 m, 6 slats, 22°, mix 1) and all-min (1.2 m, 3 slats, 4°, mix 0) both passed three-check, exporting 532 and 328 triangles. The slats, armrests, stretcher and plaque are butt-jointed 1 to 3 cm into the frames, by design. glb-lint: 0 errors and 4 heuristic warnings. These cover the per-mesh material copies, non-indexed geometry (deliberate flat facets), overlapping tuft meshes, and 'detached' parts that are really butt-jointed into the frames, which sit in a sibling group. Its verdict reads UNVERIFIED only because no host requirements contract was supplied. plan-check passes except for its part-id regex, which rejects the hyphen in the library slug; the same plan de-hyphenated passes. three-check accepts the ids and all 9 survive the GLB reload. Viewer exposure is 0.72 instead of the direction's 1.05 so timber and sign yellow don't wash out; this is staging only and does not affect the GLB.
About the Benches 3D model
Benches is a free low-poly 3D model from the Zoo set. It measures 2.1 m × 90 cm × 77 cm (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 388 triangles across 10 meshes, with 9 named parts. Download the 37 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Benches 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 37 KB: 388 triangles, 1,164 vertices and 10 materials, modelled in metres at 2.1 m × 90 cm × 77 cm.
- Can I animate Benches?
- It ships as a static mesh. Its 9 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Benches 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
