Omnibus

A low-poly Victorian knifeboard horse omnibus: a bottle-green saloon with a window row, a roof deck with a back-to-back bench inside brick-red decency boards, a driver's box with brass lamps, a rear platform and ladder, and red-spoked wheels. It comes with a seamless 6 s rolling loop in which the forecarriage and pole swing gently on their turntable.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Omnibus for the Victorian Street kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. It moves: author a seamless baked loop (2–12 s) with every pivot exactly at its hinge, axle or swivel, and keep the base still. This is one part of the Victorian Street kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Gaslight, soot and shop windows. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: brick red #c32222, soot black #151619, bottle green #3a883a, brass #b28c34, brick red dark #821717, soot black dark #090a0b, brick red light #db5757, soot black light #3a3c40, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `fogLevel` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Fog level" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 7.7 m long from the platform step to the pole tip (4.75 m for the body, boot and platform alone), 2.36 m wide across the rear hubs and 3.0 m tall to the knifeboard top. The rear wheels are 1.44 m across and the front wheels 0.96 m. The origin is at the bottom centre, all four wheels rest on y = 0 and the front (pole) faces +Z. The GLB has 3,840 triangles in 38 meshes. No horses are included: the pole, splinter bar and trace hooks show where a pair would hitch. Every material is named exactly after its Victorian Street palette colour. The exporter writes one material per mesh, so a name can repeat: recolour by name. Two 'warm white' materials exist, the plain letter board and the emissive lamp glass. The baked clip scene-motion (6 s, seamless) moves only parts on their own pivots. The rear wheels roll 2 whole turns and the front wheels 3 (radius ratio 1.5, so they keep pace). The forecarriage (turntable plate, front axle, springs, pole and front wheels) swivels up to ±8.6° about the vertical turntable axis. The body never moves. The export snapshots the t = 2 s frame, so the glTF's static node pose is mid-loop (forecarriage turned). glb-lint's box-corner bounds read y −0.26 for the rotated wheel nodes, but the lowest vertex is at y = 0. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change the model when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. fogLevel (the kit's 'Fog level') sets how strongly the lamp glass glows (emissive 0.25–1.5). saloonLength (2.9–3.9 m) stretches the saloon and moves the rear axle, platform and ladder, and it sets the window count. steer scales the forecarriage swing, and 0 gives a straight roll. glb-lint: 0 errors and 7 heuristic warnings: per-mesh materials (count/duplicates), deliberately non-indexed flat-shaded geometry, nested trim overlapping its panels, 'detached' roof pieces that rest on the deck, the box-corner grounding reading above, and the 3 m height against the direction's 1 m reference. The verdict reads UNVERIFIED only because no requirements contract was supplied. plan-check passes on a copy with de-hyphenated ids. Its part-id regex rejects the hyphenated slug ids this library requires, but three-check accepts them and all 14 survive the GLB reload.

About the Omnibus 3D model

Omnibus is a free animated low-poly 3D model from the Victorian Street set. It measures 2.4 m × 3.3 m × 7.8 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 3,840 triangles across 38 meshes, with 14 named parts and a baked animation (6.0 s). Download the 337 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Omnibus 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 337 KB: 3,840 triangles, 11,520 vertices and 38 materials, modelled in metres at 2.4 m × 3.3 m × 7.8 m.
Is Omnibus animated?
Yes — the GLB carries a baked animation (6.0 s), ready to play with any glTF animation mixer.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Omnibus 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
