Market barrows

A low-poly Victorian costermonger's barrow: a bottle-green tray with brass lining on two big brick-red spoked wheels, long dark-wood shafts with legs, three bays heaped with apples, cabbages and turnips, and a red-and-white striped awning with a brass naphtha flare hung off the ridge.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Market barrows for the Victorian Street kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Victorian Street kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Gaslight, soot and shop windows. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: brick red #c32222, soot black #151619, bottle green #3a883a, brass #b28c34, brick red dark #821717, soot black dark #090a0b, brick red light #db5757, soot black light #3a3c40, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `fogLevel` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Fog level" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size (default params): 2.69 m long including the shafts (the tray is 1.8 m), 1.37 m wide across the wheels and awning, 2.19 m tall to the awning ridge; the wheels are 0.92 m across and the tray sides stand 0.8 m off the ground. Origin at the bottom centre, resting on y = 0 (both iron tyres and both legs touch it). The long axis runs along X with the shafts toward -X; the selling side faces +Z. The GLB has 4,174 triangles in 28 meshes (merged per part and colour, flat normals baked, non-indexed) and no animation clip. At the heaviest param settings (2.2 m tray, 3 produce layers, 2.4 m ridge) it was rebuilt and checked at 5,818 triangles, still inside the 6,000 budget; the lightest settings were also checked. Every material is named exactly after its kit palette colour (10 of the 11 kit colours are used; soot black dark is not). The exporter writes one material per mesh, so a colour name appears on several materials: recolour by name. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change the model when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. fogLevel (the kit's 'Fog level') is how foggy the night is: the naphtha flare's flame grows from 7 to 21 cm and the road soot band along the foot of the tray rises from 2 to 7 cm; the fog itself belongs to the street scene. The flame is plain warm white, not emissive, so add a point light in your engine for a real glow. Each produce bay is a solid mound up to the side boards with only the visible courses modelled as separate pieces. glb-lint: 0 errors and 6 heuristic warnings: material count and duplicates from the per-mesh materials, unindexed geometry (deliberate flat shading), intended nesting of trim, lining and hangers, 'detached' produce, awning posts and flare hanger (they sit in their own part groups but rest on the tray floor or hang from the ridge), and height against the direction's generic 1 m reference. The verdict reads UNVERIFIED only because no host requirements contract was supplied. plan-check passes except for its part-id regex, which rejects the hyphenated slug ids this library requires; the same plan de-hyphenated passes. three-check accepts the ids, and all 10 survive the GLB reload.

About the Market barrows 3D model

Market barrows is a free low-poly 3D model from the Victorian Street set. It measures 2.7 m × 2.2 m × 1.4 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 4,174 triangles across 28 meshes, with 10 named parts. Download the 318 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Market barrows 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 318 KB: 4,174 triangles, 12,522 vertices and 28 materials, modelled in metres at 2.7 m × 2.2 m × 1.4 m.
Can I animate Market barrows?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 10 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Market barrows 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
