Hand barrow

A low-poly Victorian street porter's hand barrow: a slatted dark-wood bed with bottle-green sides on two big brick-red spoked wheels, long shafts with legs, a railed headboard with a hanging lantern, and a load of a brass-bound steamer trunk, a carpet bag and string-tied parcels. In a seamless 6 s loop the tailboard drops, the trunk lid lifts and both close again while the lantern swings.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Hand barrow for the Victorian Street kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. It moves: author a seamless baked loop (2–12 s) with every pivot exactly at its hinge, axle or swivel, and keep the base still. This is one part of the Victorian Street kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Gaslight, soot and shop windows. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: brick red #c32222, soot black #151619, bottle green #3a883a, brass #b28c34, brick red dark #821717, soot black dark #090a0b, brick red light #db5757, soot black light #3a3c40, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `fogLevel` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Fog level" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size (default params): 2.2 m long including the shafts (the bed is 1.6 m), 1.18 m wide across the axle caps, 1.22 m tall at rest to the trunk lid; the wheels are 0.9 m across and the bed sits 0.7 m off the ground. Origin at the bottom centre, resting on y = 0 (both iron tyres and both leg shoes touch it). The long axis runs along X with the shafts toward -X and the tailboard toward +X; the load side faces +Z. The GLB has 2,400 triangles in 39 meshes (merged per part and colour, flat normals, non-indexed) and one 6 s clip, 'scene-motion', that loops seamlessly: the tailboard drops on its bottom hinge, the trunk lid lifts on its back hinge, both close, and the lantern swings on its hook. Chassis, bed and wheels never move. Each moving part's node sits exactly on its hinge or hook. The static node pose in the GLB is the t = 2 s frame (lid and tailboard open), because the export runs after the determinism seek, so the static bounds reach 1.58 m; play the clip or seek to 0 for the closed rest pose. Every material is named exactly after its kit palette colour (9 of the 11 kit colours are used; brick red light and soot black dark are not). The exporter writes one material per mesh, so a colour name appears on several materials: recolour by name. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change the model when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer; the shortest bed with the smallest wheels and the longest bed with the largest wheels were both rebuilt and passed three-check (2,376 to 2,436 exported triangles). fogLevel (the kit's 'Fog level') sets how high the lantern is turned up: its flame grows from 3.5 to 11.5 cm. The flame is plain warm white, not emissive, so add a point light in your engine for a glow. glb-lint: 0 errors and 4 heuristic warnings: material count and duplicates from the per-mesh materials, unindexed geometry (deliberate flat shading), and overlapping sibling boxes (intended nesting of stays, axle and trim). The verdict reads UNVERIFIED only because no requirements contract was supplied. plan-check passes except for its part-id regex, which rejects the hyphenated slug ids this library requires; the same plan de-hyphenated passes. three-check accepts the ids, and all 11 survive the GLB reload.

About the Hand barrow 3D model

Hand barrow is a free animated low-poly 3D model from the Victorian Street set. It measures 2.4 m × 1.6 m × 1.2 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 2,400 triangles across 39 meshes, with 11 named parts and a baked animation (6.0 s). Download the 222 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Hand barrow 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 222 KB: 2,400 triangles, 7,200 vertices and 39 materials, modelled in metres at 2.4 m × 1.6 m × 1.2 m.
Is Hand barrow animated?
Yes — the GLB carries a baked animation (6.0 s), ready to play with any glTF animation mixer.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Hand barrow 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
