Barrels

A low-poly group of three Victorian pub beer casks: a tall hooped cask with a red-painted head and a bottle-green owner's band, a shorter cask behind it, and a cask laid on a soot-black iron stillage with a brass tap facing the street.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Barrels for the Victorian Street kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Victorian Street kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Gaslight, soot and shop windows. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: brick red #c32222, soot black #151619, bottle green #3a883a, brass #b28c34, brick red dark #821717, soot black dark #090a0b, brick red light #db5757, soot black light #3a3c40, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `fogLevel` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Fog level" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size at the defaults: 1.13 m wide (x) × 1.35 m deep (z) × 0.85 m tall (y). The tall cask is 0.85 m high and about 0.53 m across the belly, the short cask 0.62 m high, and the lying cask 0.72 m long on a 0.10 m iron stillage. The tap faces +Z. The origin is at the bottom centre of the footprint and everything rests on y = 0. The GLB has 3,396 triangles in 12 meshes (merged per part and colour), no animation clip, and flat-baked normals (non-indexed). Every material is named exactly after its kit palette colour (7 of the 11 kit colours); the exporter writes one material per mesh, so names repeat — recolour by name. fogLevel (the kit's 'Fog level') is the damp soot the fog leaves behind: a soot-black-light grime skirt climbs the upright casks from 5% of their height (low fog) to 35% (thick fog) and disappears at 0; the fog itself belongs to the street scene. barrelCount: 1 = tall cask only, 2 adds the cask on its stillage, 3 adds the short cask; height scales the whole group; bulge sets how far each belly swells. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and change geometry only when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. glb-lint: 0 errors, 5 heuristic warnings (more than 10 materials and duplicate names from per-mesh materials, non-indexed flat shading, intended nesting of hoops, band and grime on the staves, and the brass fittings mesh flagged detached because its bungs sit on the heads, which are a separate part). plan-check passes except for its part-id regex, which rejects the hyphenated slug ids this library requires; the same plan de-hyphenated passes, and three-check accepts the ids and all 7 survive the GLB reload. Two fix rounds, both hero framing (tightened, then loosened so the stillage isn't cropped).

About the Barrels 3D model

Barrels is a free low-poly 3D model from the Victorian Street set. It measures 1.1 m × 85 cm × 1.3 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 3,396 triangles across 12 meshes, with 7 named parts. Download the 250 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Barrels 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 250 KB: 3,396 triangles, 10,188 vertices and 12 materials, modelled in metres at 1.1 m × 85 cm × 1.3 m.
Can I animate Barrels?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 7 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Barrels 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
