Tháp Rùa – Hồ Gươm, Hà Nội

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

The Turtle Tower (1886) on its tiny islet in the middle of Hoàn Kiếm Lake, the heart of Hà Nội. The tower is small (about 8 m) and blends Gothic and Vietnamese styles: three diminishing storeys on a rectangular plan; the ground storey is pierced on all sides by tall pointed (Gothic) arched openings, the upper storeys by smaller arched windows; walls of weathered pale-yellow and grey plaster with dark rain stains and patches of moss; crowned by a small square pavilion with a curved Vietnamese tiled roof with upturned corners. The islet is a low grassy mound with a few leaning trees, stone edging and some shrubs, surrounded by calm jade-green lake water (a circular lake disc around it). Loop (12 s): gentle water ripples and the trees swaying slightly. Make it a polished, elegant model in the stylised-PBR direction: clean proportions, smooth curvature, soft bevels on every edge, crisp silhouettes and a restrained palette of named materials (name each material for what it is, e.g. "limestone", "red lacquer", "glazed roof tile", "sea water"); every material in the exported GLB must carry that name — set `material.name` on each one, because an unnamed material fails review. It must be recognisable at a glance as the real place. No text, lettering, logos or signage anywhere. Reference photos of the real place are in `reference/` (ref1.jpg, ref2.jpg, ref3.jpg): open and study them before planning if you can view images, and compare your hero capture with them before delivering. Natural sites and large complexes are presented as a tabletop diorama on a clean rounded plinth with slate-grey sides; state the real-world scale and the diorama scale in meta.notes. Hard requirement: the exported GLB must contain AT LEAST 100,000 triangles (target 120,000–200,000) — measure it before delivering. Spend the budget on real modelled detail (roof tiles, carvings, railings, mouldings, rock strata, foliage clusters, water surface, boats), never on invisible subdivision. Keep the GLB under 20 MB: index all geometry, instance repeated parts, no image textures.

Note: Real-world scale: the real Tháp Rùa is ~8 m tall; the modelled tower stands ~9.7 m above its islet including finial (≈1:1). Presented as a tabletop diorama — a 22.4 m-diameter jade lake ring and grassy islet on a rounded slate-grey plinth, total height 11.75 m, origin at plinth bottom centre. The baked 12 s clip loops six expanding ripple rings and gentle tree sway; ripples rest just above the water plane and are intentionally unattached. glb-lint reports only justified warnings (0 errors): 13 named substance materials and 157k triangles exceed the direction defaults by plan override (the brief requires ≥100k tris of real detail), merged arch walls export non-indexed, and the 11.75 m height reflects the real site rather than a 15 cm product.
