Rock art wall

A low-poly modular Stone Age rock art wall: a smooth grey rock panel painted with an ochre mammoth, hand stencils, a black reindeer and a spear-carrying hunting party, under a jutting charcoal caprock, with a stone foot ledge holding a pigment mortar, ochre lumps and a hide pouch. It snaps end to end on a 1 m grid.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Rock art wall for the Stone Age Camp kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. It is a modular piece that snaps on a 1 m grid: give it a length in whole metres and put the origin at its snapping end, stated in meta.notes. This is one part of the Stone Age Camp kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Hide tents at the edge of the ice. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: hide tan #bf9769, ochre #bd8728, charcoal #34383d, moss #55743e, hide tan dark #9a7142, ochre dark #7e5a1b, hide tan light #d2bca2, ochre light #d6a95c, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `climateIceOrForest` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Climate (ice or forest)" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size at defaults: 5 m long (x), 2.6 m deep (z) and 2.79 m tall. The wall top is 2.6 m and the broken caprock rim plus the snow cap reach 2.79 m. It is a modular piece for a 1 m grid: the run goes along +X from x = 0 to x = length (a whole number of metres, default 5 m), and the origin is the snapping end at x = 0 on y = 0, with the footprint centred in Z. The painted face points to +Z. Facet jitter fades to zero at both ends, so chained pieces share one end profile. The GLB has 2,248 triangles in 20 meshes (merged per part and colour) and no animation clip. Normals are baked flat. The paintings are modelled shapes 1.2 cm proud of a planar panel, not textures, with second-colour details one 6 mm layer further out. Every material is named exactly after its kit palette colour. 11 of the 12 kit colours are used (hide tan dark is not). The exporter writes one material per mesh, so one colour name can appear on several materials; recolour by name. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change geometry when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. length fills the panel left to right with as many whole motifs as fit (mammoth, hands, reindeer, hunters, bison, dot rows), so a 5 m piece shows the first four; the bison and dots appear from about 6 m. wallHeight shrinks the figures on short walls. overhang sets how far the caprock juts over the panel. climateIceOrForest (the kit's 'Climate (ice or forest)') trades a snow cap and ground drifts for moss tufts: all snow at 0, all moss at 1, both at the default 0.5. It never moves the rock, paintings or tools. glb-lint: 0 errors; its warnings are expected here (duplicate per-mesh materials, 20 materials > 10, nested parts such as the paint on the panel and the caprock on the core reported as overlapping or detached, and a scale check against a 1 m reference). plan-check passes except for its part-id regex, which rejects the hyphens in the slug-based ids this library requires. The same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes, and three-check accepts the ids. Fix rounds (visual): 1, the panel became a thin grey skin on a tapered charcoal core with a broken caprock rim and a snow cap that follows it, so the side and back read as rock instead of a slab under a lintel; 2, hero framing loosened so the foot stones clear the toolbar.

About the Rock art wall 3D model

Rock art wall is a free low-poly 3D model from the Stone Age Camp set. It measures 5.0 m × 2.8 m × 2.6 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 2,248 triangles across 20 meshes, with 8 named parts. Download the 133 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Rock art wall 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 133 KB: 2,248 triangles, 4,204 vertices and 20 materials, modelled in metres at 5.0 m × 2.8 m × 2.6 m.
Can I animate Rock art wall?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 8 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Rock art wall 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
