Raft
A low-poly Stone Age log raft on a patch of dark meltwater with ice floes: seven lashed logs on three thong-bound cross poles, a hide bundle, a rolled fur and two flint spears on deck, a bow pole flying an ochre hide pennant with a water skin, and a long steering sweep at the stern. It comes with a seamless 8 s loop where the raft bobs, the sweep works on its crutch, the pennant swivels and the water skin swings.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Raft for the Stone Age Camp kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. It moves: author a seamless baked loop (2–12 s) with every pivot exactly at its hinge, axle or swivel, and keep the base still. This is one part of the Stone Age Camp kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Hide tents at the edge of the ice. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: hide tan #bf9769, ochre #bd8728, charcoal #34383d, moss #55743e, hide tan dark #9a7142, ochre dark #7e5a1b, hide tan light #d2bca2, ochre light #d6a95c, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `climateIceOrForest` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Climate (ice or forest)" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

- Raft
- Meltwater (still base)
- Ice floes (still, ice side of the climate knob)
- Log deck (heaves, pitches and rolls at its waterline centre)
- Hide bundle, fur roll and spears
- Spruce boughs or snow (climate knob)
- Bow pole, stays and peg
- Hide pennant (swivels on the pole)
- Water skin (swings on its peg)
- Steering sweep (yaws and feathers on its crutch)
Note: Size at defaults: the raft is 3.0 m long and 1.76 m wide (seven 0.26 m logs; the cross poles reach 1.98 m), and the bow pole stands 1.6 m above the deck. The model is 2.21 m tall overall. It floats on a still 3.6 × 5.8 m rounded patch of dark meltwater (surface 0.30 m) that rests on y = 0. The origin is at the patch's bottom centre and the bow faces +Z. The raft sits forward of centre so the steering sweep's blade stays over the water. The GLB has 2,650 triangles in 32 meshes, merged per part and colour with flat normals. three-check's ~2.9k figure includes the viewer's staging ground, which is not exported. Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour, and all 12 colours are used. The exporter writes one material per mesh, so a colour name can repeat; recolour by name. Animation: one seamless 8 s clip ('scene-motion'). The deck heaves ±2 cm and pitches and rolls under 1.5° about its waterline centre. The sweep yaws and feathers about the top of its A-frame crutch. The pennant swivels on the pole axis at the pole top, and the water skin swings from its peg tip. The water patch and the ice floes never move. The GLB's static node pose is the t = 2 s frame. climateIceOrForest (the kit's 'Climate (ice or forest)'): 0 is ice and 1 is forest. Ice floes on the water number round(4·(1 − c)), so there are 2 at the default and none at 1. Below 0.35, snow caps settle on the bundle and fur roll. From 0.4, spruce boughs lie on the deck, 2 at the default. At climate 1 the ice_floes part is not created, so that id is absent there. raftLength, logCount, poleHeight and oarSweep reshape the model only when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer; the GLB is baked at the defaults. Both ends of every param were checked with three-check. glb-lint: 0 errors. Its verdict is UNVERIFIED only because no requirements contract is supplied. Its warnings are heuristic: non-indexed flat-shaded geometry, repeated material names, nested deck meshes overlapping, ice floes 'detached' because they sit in the water rather than touching a sibling, and height vs a 1 m reference. plan-check rejects the hyphenated part ids this library requires (a regex quirk). The same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes, and three-check accepts the ids. Fix rounds (visual): 1, the flat-cone boughs read as green paper arrows, so they became stemmed sprigs; a stray thong ring on the bundle was removed; the hero was reframed so the spear tips clear the toolbar. 2, the sweep blade dipped 4 cm below y = 0 at the export pose, so the shaft pitch dropped from 0.45 to 0.40 rad.
About the Raft 3D model
Raft is a free animated low-poly 3D model from the Stone Age Camp set. It measures 3.6 m × 2.2 m × 5.8 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 2,650 triangles across 32 meshes, with 10 named parts and a baked animation (8.0 s). Download the 308 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Raft 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 308 KB: 2,650 triangles, 7,950 vertices and 32 materials, modelled in metres at 3.6 m × 2.2 m × 5.8 m.
- Is Raft animated?
- Yes — the GLB carries a baked animation (8.0 s), ready to play with any glTF animation mixer.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Raft 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
