Hide tents

A low-poly Stone Age camp at the edge of the ice: a big conical tent of patchwork hides with an ochre band and poles crossing out of the smoke hole, a bent-pole hide dome and a small cone, weighted with hem stones, with a stone hearth and a drying rack.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Hide tents for the Stone Age Camp kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Stone Age Camp kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Hide tents at the edge of the ice. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: hide tan #bf9769, ochre #bd8728, charcoal #34383d, moss #55743e, hide tan dark #9a7142, ochre dark #7e5a1b, hide tan light #d2bca2, ochre light #d6a95c, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `climateIceOrForest` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Climate (ice or forest)" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

  • Big tent poles
  • Door and flap
  • Hide dome
  • Small cone tent
  • Hem stones
  • Hearth
  • Drying rack
  • Snow or moss

Note: Size at the defaults: 4.31 m tall to the big tent's pole tips, footprint about 10.3 × 7.1 m including snow drifts. The big cone tent is 4.6 m across, the hide dome 3 m across and 1.65 m tall, the small cone 2.5 m across. Origin at the bottom centre, resting on y = 0, front (big tent door, hearth) facing +Z. climateIceOrForest (the kit's 'Climate (ice or forest)'): at 0 snow drifts bank the back of each tent and most hem stones carry snow caps; toward 1 the snow shrinks away and moss tufts grow round the hems; the default 0.5 shows a little of both. tentCount (1–3) keeps the big tent, then adds the dome and the small cone. mainTentHeight (3.2–4.6 m) sets the big cone's apex. doorOpen (0–1) swings the big tent's hide flap from closed to folded back. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change the geometry when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer; only the defaults were rendered and checked. The GLB has 3,456 triangles in 32 meshes and is static, with no animation clip. Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour and all 12 kit colours are used; the exporter writes one material per mesh, so names repeat — recolour by name. glb-lint reports 0 errors and 6 expected warnings (non-indexed geometry for flat facets, nested overlapping parts, the smoke-hole cap sitting inside the pole bundle, height vs a 1 m reference); its verdict reads UNVERIFIED only because no requirements contract was supplied. plan-check rejects only the hyphenated library part ids (its regex allows no hyphen); the same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. three-check keeps all 10 ids. Viewer-only staging (ground, sun rig, exposure 0.7) is not in the GLB.

About the Hide tents 3D model

Hide tents is a free low-poly 3D model from the Stone Age Camp set. It measures 10 m × 4.3 m × 7.1 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 3,456 triangles across 32 meshes, with 10 named parts. Download the 272 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Hide tents 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 272 KB: 3,456 triangles, 10,368 vertices and 32 materials, modelled in metres at 10 m × 4.3 m × 7.1 m.
Can I animate Hide tents?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 10 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Hide tents 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
