Terraced towers

A low-poly pair of solarpunk garden towers on a shared podium. White tiers with sky-blue glazing step back into lawned terraces lined with terracotta planters, hedges and faceted trees. Vines trail down the facades, a glass sky bridge joins the towers and a solar array and small wind turbine crown the tall one.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Terraced towers for the Solarpunk Garden City kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Solarpunk Garden City kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): A green city of glass and vines. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: leaf green #3a883a, white #f4f1ec, terracotta #be5937, sky blue #2e67b8, leaf green dark #235223, white dark #d7cebc, leaf green light #5db15d, white light #f9f8f6, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `plantCoverage` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Plant coverage" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: the podium is 34.4 m wide × 22.4 m deep and 4.5 m high, and the entrance canopy brings the total depth to 24.8 m. The tall tower has 12 floors at 3.5 m in four stepped tiers, with its roof at 46.5 m. The turbine blade tip is the highest point at 57.4 m. The short tower has 7 floors in three tiers, with its garden roof at 29 m. The origin is the bottom centre of the whole footprint, the podium rests on y = 0 and the entrance faces +Z. The GLB has 8,202 triangles in 35 draw calls (meshes are merged per part and colour) and no animation clip. Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour and all 12 are used. The exporter writes one material per mesh, so the same colour name appears on several materials: recolour by name. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change the geometry when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. floors sets the tall tower's floor count, and the short tower gets 60% of it. setback is how far each tier steps back, which sets terrace depth and tree size. plantCoverage (the kit's 'Plant coverage') scales the number of trees, hedge height and vine count and length. At 0 the planting is trimmed back but never bare. The worst case (16 floors, plantCoverage 1) stays under 10,000 triangles. glb-lint: 0 errors and 4 heuristic warnings. Two cover the material count, both caused by per-mesh materials. One flags deliberate nesting such as lawns under tiers and glass inside the podium walls. The last compares the height with the direction's 1 m reference. plan-check passes except for its part-id regex, which rejects the hyphens in the slug-based ids this library requires. three-check accepts those ids, and all 9 survive the GLB reload.

About the Terraced towers 3D model

Terraced towers is a free low-poly 3D model from the Solarpunk Garden City set. It measures 35 m × 57 m × 25 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 7,912 triangles across 33 meshes, with 9 named parts. Download the 469 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Terraced towers 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 469 KB: 7,912 triangles, 16,612 vertices and 33 materials, modelled in metres at 35 m × 57 m × 25 m.
Can I animate Terraced towers?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 9 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Terraced towers 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
