Chariot
A low-poly Roman racing chariot for the Roman Forum kit: a chest-high imperial-red front shield under a rolled bronze lip with a bronze wreath medallion, two eight-spoked iron-tyred wheels, and a long up-swept pole to a yoke with two saddles, shown unhitched on a pole stand. It has a seamless 8 s loop: the wheels turn and the yoke tassels swing.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Chariot for the Roman Forum kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. It moves: author a seamless baked loop (2–12 s) with every pivot exactly at its hinge, axle or swivel, and keep the base still. This is one part of the Roman Forum kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): The civic heart of an imperial city. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: marble white #f4f1ec, terracotta #be5937, imperial red #c32222, bronze #916430, marble white dark #d7cebc, terracotta dark #823d26, marble white light #f9f8f6, terracotta light #d08971, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `intactOrRuined` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Intact or ruined" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: about 3.0 m long (rear of the wheels to the pole finial) × 1.76 m wide over the axle ends × 1.58 m tall to the bronze lip of the front shield; the wheels are 0.9 m across, the cab floor is 0.9 × 0.62 m at 0.6 m and the yoke sits at about 1.1 m. Shown unhitched (no horses): a tripod stand holds the pole at yoke height. Origin is at the bottom centre, the model rests on y = 0 on both tyres and the three stand feet, and the pole faces +Z. The GLB has 2,952 triangles in 29 meshes; three-check's 3,490 figure includes the viewer's staging ground, which is not exported. Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour; 10 of the 12 are used at the default (marble white light is unused, terracotta light appears only from intactOrRuined 0.85). The exporter writes one material per mesh, so a colour name appears on several materials: recolour by name. The baked clip scene-motion (8 s, seamless) turns both wheels one full forward revolution about the axle and swings the two tassels on their hooks under the yoke ends; the cab, pole, yoke and stand never move, so the wheels spin in place. The GLB's static node pose is the t = 2 s pose (a quarter wheel turn). intactOrRuined (the kit's 'Intact or ruined'): below 0.4 the chariot is fresh, all imperial red with a full bronze rim; from 0.4 (the default) the flanks fade to terracotta and the top of the right flank is broken away toward the back, losing its rim and hand-grip; from 0.7 the break deepens and the wreath medallion and marble stripe are gone; from 0.85 the whole shell fades to terracotta light. It never removes the wheels, floor or pole. wheelRadius (cab, pole and floor heights follow the axle), spokeCount, poleLength and breastworkHeight rebuild the model. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change geometry when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer; only the defaults were rendered and checked. glb-lint: 0 errors and 5 expected warnings: 29 per-mesh materials sharing 10 colour names (count above the direction's 10, and duplicates), deliberately non-indexed flat-shaded geometry, nested sibling bounds (stripe and medallion on the breastwork, slats on the floor), and the bronze rim flagged as detached because it sits on the breastwork, which is a different part. The verdict reads UNVERIFIED only because no requirements contract was supplied. plan-check rejects only the hyphenated library part ids (its regex allows no hyphen); the same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. three-check and the GLB reload keep all 12 ids. Fix round 1 replaced the lumpy chained-rod rim with flat bronze bands and turned the hero toward the front shield; fix round 2 tapered the rolled lip into the rim and loosened the hero framing so the stand feet clear the frame.
About the Chariot 3D model
Chariot is a free animated low-poly 3D model from the Roman Forum set. It measures 1.8 m × 1.6 m × 3.0 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 2,952 triangles across 29 meshes, with 12 named parts and a baked animation (8.0 s). Download the 265 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Chariot 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 265 KB: 2,952 triangles, 8,856 vertices and 29 materials, modelled in metres at 1.8 m × 1.6 m × 3.0 m.
- Is Chariot animated?
- Yes — the GLB carries a baked animation (8.0 s), ready to play with any glTF animation mixer.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Chariot 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
