Aqueduct spans
A low-poly run of Roman aqueduct: two stacked arcades of stone piers and terracotta brick arches carrying the covered water channel on top. Its square-cut ends chain into a continuous aqueduct.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Aqueduct spans for the Roman Forum kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Roman Forum kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): The civic heart of an imperial city. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: marble white #f4f1ec, terracotta #be5937, imperial red #c32222, bronze #916430, marble white dark #d7cebc, terracotta dark #823d26, marble white light #f9f8f6, terracotta light #d08971, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `intactOrRuined` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Intact or ruined" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 19.2 m long (three 6.4 m bays with 4.4 m arches on 2 m piers) × 4.7 m deep at the footings (3.8 m lower tier, 3.1 m upper tier, 2.5 m channel) × 21.5 m to the top of the cover slabs. Origin is at the bottom centre, the footings rest on y = 0, the arcade face fronts +Z (front and back are dressed alike). Both X ends finish on a half pier with the channel cut square, so pieces laid end to end at a pitch of spans × 6.4 m (19.2 m at the default) form one continuous aqueduct; with ruin above 0 the +X end of the channel is the broken one, so mirror or alternate pieces if the break should not repeat. The GLB has 5,832 triangles in 13 meshes and is static with no animation clip; three-check's 6,122-triangle figure includes the viewer's staging ground, which is not exported. Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour (5 of the 12 are used); the exporter writes one material per mesh, so a colour name can repeat — recolour by name. intactOrRuined (kit 'Intact or ruined'): 0 is pristine with every cover slab in place; cover slabs go missing from about 0.15, the channel walls break down toward the +X end and fallen blocks appear at the foot from 0.3 (two at the default 0.5), and brick voussoirs drop out of the arch crowns from about 0.6. At 0 the 'rubble' part is absent, so a viewer listing parts sees 7 instead of 8. spans sets the arches per piece (2–5); tiers switches between a single and a double arcade (with 1 tier the 'upper_arcade' part is absent). Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and change geometry only when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer; only the defaults were rendered and checked. glb-lint: 0 errors and 6 expected warnings (duplicate same-named materials from per-mesh export, deliberately non-indexed flat facets, imposts and cornices nested in the arcade bounds, the lining and cover slabs seated on the channel walls of a sibling part, and a 21.5 m height against the direction's 1 m reference). plan-check rejects only the hyphenated library part ids (its regex allows no hyphen); the same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes, and three-check and the GLB reload keep all 8 ids.
About the Aqueduct spans 3D model
Aqueduct spans is a free low-poly 3D model from the Roman Forum set. It measures 19 m × 22 m × 9.4 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 5,832 triangles across 13 meshes, with 8 named parts. Download the 421 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Aqueduct spans 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 421 KB: 5,832 triangles, 17,496 vertices and 13 materials, modelled in metres at 19 m × 22 m × 9.4 m.
- Can I animate Aqueduct spans?
- It ships as a static mesh. Its 8 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Aqueduct spans 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
