How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

A Belle Époque grand carousel (merry-go-round) about 10 m across and 7 m tall: a round wooden platform with a scalloped skirt and two steps; a central column clad in bevelled mirror panels and painted rounding boards with carved scrollwork, cherubs' wreaths and rows of small bulbs; a striped red-and-cream canopy with a scalloped valance, gold finial and pennants; and three concentric rings of carved horses (about 36 in total, varied poses — jumpers and standers) with sculpted manes, saddles, bridles and stirrups, each on a twisted brass pole with crank-driven up-and-down motion, plus two ornate chariot benches. Detail is modelled, not textured: carving, bevels, bolts, bulb sockets, rope edging, gilded trim. The platform turns slowly and every horse rises and falls on its pole in a seamless 12 s baked loop (pivot at the central axle). Hard requirement: the exported GLB must contain between 480,000 and 520,000 triangles — measure it before delivering and adjust detail (horse carving resolution, bulbs, scrollwork) to land in that band; outside it the delivery is rejected. Keep the GLB under 60 MB (index the geometry, no image textures).

Note: Four horse variants combine jumping and standing poses with ivory and brown finishes. Static structural details are batched by material; named assemblies and source-part ids remain in the GLB. Parameters regenerate the procedural viewer; the download stores the default configuration. Mirror panels use metallic PBR and reflect the receiving application’s environment. Lint reports non-blocking density, scale and intentional assembly-overlap warnings.
