Rope ladders

A low-poly hemp rope ladder with wooden rungs, hung from a dark-wood spreader bar by two copper hooks, with its last rungs folded onto the floor. Sized for tiny people climbing around the Giant's Kitchen.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Rope ladders for the Giant's Kitchen kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Giant's Kitchen kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Tiny people on a huge table. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: wood brown #6b4a2e, enamel white #f4f1ec, copper #b8602e, tomato red #c32222, wood brown dark #362517, enamel white dark #d7cebc, wood brown light #9b704b, enamel white light #f9f8f6, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `scaleRatio` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Scale ratio" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Default size: 0.69 m wide x 2.51 m tall x 1.23 m deep, made for human-size people (rungs 0.30 m apart, 0.45 m between ropes). The 2.2 m drop from the bar plus two rungs lying on the floor gives it ground contact at y = 0. The copper hooks point back (-Z) to hang over a table or shelf edge up to about 0.15 m thick. The edge itself is not included, so on its own the ladder looks as if it hangs from an unseen ledge. scaleRatio scales the whole ladder uniformly: 0 = 0.7x, 0.5 = 1x, 1 = 1.3x. Changing any param (scaleRatio, rungCount, width, trailRungs) regenerates the geometry in the viewer; the GLB holds the default build. Material names are the kit palette names (role is in the material's userData in the viewer). Flat-shaded and non-indexed on purpose, so the facets survive in any engine. 2804 triangles, 6 meshes, 6 materials, no textures, no animation. Part ids: each library id (giants-kitchen-rope-ladders.*) is on a group node holding one mesh, and that mesh also has a short ropeladder.* id because the kit's plan validator does not allow hyphens. glb-lint found 0 errors. Its verdict is UNVERIFIED only because no requirements contract was supplied. It gave 3 heuristic warnings: non-indexed geometry (intentional, for flat shading), bar and hooks 'touch no sibling' (each mesh sits alone in its part group; the bar does sit on the ropes and the hooks clamp the bar), and height 2.5x the 1 m reference (true to scale).
