Cột cờ Lũng Cú, Hà Giang

Tabletop diorama of the Lũng Cú flag tower on Dragon Mountain: a tapering octagonal grey-stone tower with eight Đông Sơn bronze-drum relief panels, slit windows and a parapeted observation deck, flying the exact national flag over stone steps, terraced slopes and green-and-grey karst peaks on a slate plinth.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

The Lũng Cú Flag Tower at Vietnam's northernmost point, on the summit of Dragon Mountain (Núi Rồng). An octagonal tower about 33 m tall built of grey stone: a wide octagonal base whose eight faces carry relief panels in the style of Đông Sơn bronze drums (concentric rings of flying birds, boats, dancers and a star at the centre), a slimmer octagonal shaft with slit windows for the internal spiral stair, an observation platform with a parapet at the top, and a flagpole flying a large national flag (red with a five-pointed yellow star, no text). Around the hilltop: a stone-paved summit terrace, long flights of stone steps winding up the green hill, and below it, a ring of terraced fields and sharp karst peaks, all as a diorama on a plinth. Loop (5 s): the flag waves seamlessly. Make it a polished, elegant model in the stylised-PBR direction: clean proportions, smooth curvature, soft bevels on every edge, crisp silhouettes and a restrained palette of named materials (name each material for what it is, e.g. "limestone", "red lacquer", "glazed roof tile", "sea water"); every material in the exported GLB must carry that name — set `material.name` on each one, because an unnamed material fails review. It must be recognisable at a glance as the real place. No text, lettering, logos or signage anywhere. Reference photos of the real place are in `reference/` (ref1.jpg, ref2.jpg, ref3.jpg): open and study them before planning if you can view images, and compare your hero capture with them before delivering. Natural sites and large complexes are presented as a tabletop diorama on a clean rounded plinth with slate-grey sides; state the real-world scale and the diorama scale in meta.notes. Hard requirement: the exported GLB must contain AT LEAST 100,000 triangles (target 120,000–200,000) — measure it before delivering. Spend the budget on real modelled detail (roof tiles, carvings, railings, mouldings, rock strata, foliage clusters, water surface, boats), never on invisible subdivision. Keep the GLB under 20 MB: index all geometry, instance repeated parts, no image textures.

Note: Real tower ~33 m on the Dragon Mountain summit; diorama scale ~1:100 for the tower (body ~0.21 m, about a third of the 0.583 m model height) with the landscape vertically compressed; 0.92 m across. GLB carries ~197,000 triangles and a 5 s seamless flag-wave clip on 26 hinged cloth segments. Flag is 2:3, #DA251D with one centred #FFFF00 five-pointed star (circumscribed circle 2/5 of flag length). All 13 materials are named by what they are. 13 materials exceed the stylised-pbr-product default of 8 (declared override in design-plan.md); 'slate' doubles as recessed-joint material.
