How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Rowing boat for the City Park kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. It moves: author a seamless baked loop (2–12 s) with every pivot exactly at its hinge, axle or swivel, and keep the base still. This is one part of the City Park kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Green space in the middle of town. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: grass green #3a883a, path beige #d6c5a9, pond blue #2e67b8, iron black #151619, grass green dark #235223, path beige dark #bda375, grass green light #5db15d, path beige light #ede8de, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `season` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Season" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: the hull is 3.6 m long from transom to stem head and 1.45 m wide over the gunwales. The sheer is 0.56 m up amidships and the stem head is 0.81 m, the tallest point. The oars are 2.15 m long, and with them out the boat spans about 4.4 m. Origin: x is centred, y = 0 is the bottom of the keel amidships, and z is centred on the hull length. The bow faces +Z, and port is +X. Set the boat on your own water surface (a waterline of about 0.2 m suits it); no water is included. The GLB has 1,926 triangles in 22 meshes, merged per part and colour. It holds one baked 4 s clip, 'scene-motion', and the hull never moves in it. Each oarlock horn swivels about its vertical pin (Y). Each oar is a child of its horn, so it shares that swivel and also dips and lifts about a horizontal axis through the same pin point. Frame 0 is mid-drive, with the oars square and the blades low. The stroke runs mid-drive → finish → recovery (blades lifted) → catch → mid-drive and closes exactly at 4 s. The dip is capped so the blades never go below y = 0.03. Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour. The exporter writes one material per mesh, so a colour name repeats across materials: recolour by name. Params are baked into the GLB at their defaults and only change geometry when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. strokeLength scales the oar sweep in the viewer and in any clip baked afterwards. season (the kit's 'Season') affects only the fallen leaves on the floorboards and stern seat. At 0 (spring) there is a single warm white or grass green light petal. Around 0.5 (summer) there are 4 green leaves. At 1 (autumn) there are 14 dark wood and path beige light leaves. Only the default params were captured by three-check; the param extremes were reasoned through in code but not rendered. Fix rounds: (1) the near-white interior washed out the floorboards, and the pale oars vanished against a light ground, so the interior was recoloured path beige and the floorboards and oars path beige dark. The plumb box stem was also replaced with a raked stem post. (2) The hero framing was tightened. glb-lint: 0 errors and 4 heuristic warnings. Two cover the material count and duplicate materials, both caused by the per-mesh materials. One flags overlaps where the inner and outer shells, keel and risers are deliberately nested. One flags thwarts, floorboards, leaves and oarlocks as 'detached', but they sit on the risers, inner shell and gunwale, which are separate parts. The verdict reads UNVERIFIED only because no host requirements contract was supplied. plan-check passes except for its part-id regex, which rejects the hyphens in the slug-based ids this library requires. three-check accepts those ids, and all 11 survive the GLB reload.

About the Rowing boat 3D model

Rowing boat is a free animated low-poly 3D model from the City Park set. It measures 4.4 m × 81 cm × 3.7 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 1,926 triangles across 22 meshes, with 11 named parts and a baked animation (4.0 s). Download the 195 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Rowing boat 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 195 KB: 1,926 triangles, 4,354 vertices and 22 materials, modelled in metres at 4.4 m × 81 cm × 3.7 m.
Is Rowing boat animated?
Yes — the GLB carries a baked animation (4.0 s), ready to play with any glTF animation mixer.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Rowing boat 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
