How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Picnic blankets for the City Park kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the City Park kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Green space in the middle of town. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: grass green #3a883a, path beige #d6c5a9, pond blue #2e67b8, iron black #151619, grass green dark #235223, path beige dark #bda375, grass green light #5db15d, path beige light #ede8de, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `season` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Season" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

  • Picnic blankets
  • Checked blanket
  • Bound hem
  • Folded spare blanket
  • Rolled blanket

Note: Real-world size: the spread blanket is 1.80 m × 1.50 m. The set is 0.25 m tall at the roll's carry handle and the cloth is 7 mm thick. Origin at bottom centre, front faces +Z, and the underside rests on y = 0. The front-right corner curls up and the cloth has a soft diagonal ridge; the checks are modelled geometry, not a texture. The GLB is the default state: season 0.5, so it has no leaves or snow. Above season 0.65, seeded fallen leaves appear in path beige dark and dark wood. Below 0.3, warm white snow patches and a cap on the folded spare appear. Materials are named exactly after the City Park palette colours; some colours are used by several parts, so the same material name appears more than once. Geometry is flat-shaded and non-indexed. glb-lint reports 0 errors and 4 heuristic warnings: duplicate material names, non-indexed geometry, spares resting on the blanket flagged as overlap, and the height being lower than the 1 m direction reference. The kit's plan-check rejects hyphenated part ids, so it flags the library's required `city-park-picnic-blankets.*` ids; every other plan field passes.

About the Picnic blankets 3D model

Picnic blankets is a free low-poly 3D model from the City Park set. It measures 1.8 m × 25 cm × 1.5 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 2,208 triangles across 8 meshes, with 5 named parts. Download the 174 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Picnic blankets 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 174 KB: 2,208 triangles, 6,624 vertices and 8 materials, modelled in metres at 1.8 m × 25 cm × 1.5 m.
Can I animate Picnic blankets?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 5 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Picnic blankets 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
