Human cannon

A low-poly circus human cannon: a midnight-blue barrel with white stripe bands and a flared gold muzzle on a two-wheeled wooden carriage. A 6-second loop cranks the barrel up, fires with a recoil kick and lowers it back to rest.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Human cannon for the Circus kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. It moves: author a seamless baked loop (2–12 s) with every pivot exactly at its hinge, axle or swivel, and keep the base still. This is one part of the Circus kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): The big top comes to town. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: red and white stripes #f4f1ec, gold #d0a225, midnight blue #123464, red and white stripes dark #d7cebc, gold dark #8f7019, red and white stripes light #f9f8f6, gold light #debd63, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `stripeColours` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Stripe colours" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size at rest: about 2.2 m wide, 3.2 m tall and 5.9 m long (metres, +Y up, muzzle faces +Z, origin at the bottom centre on y = 0). At the 45° peak the muzzle reaches about 4.4 m. The bore is 0.8 m across, so a performer fits inside. The carriage (wheels, cheeks, trail, spade) never moves. The clip 'scene-motion' (6 s, seamless) rotates the barrel on its trunnion axis, slides it back for recoil, turns the handwheel and aims and extends the ram, all at their real pins. The GLB's static node pose is the frame where the export was taken (mid-lowering); frame 0 of the clip is the 15° rest pose. Visible meshes use 'circus-human-cannon.*' ids. Pivot nodes use 'humancannon.*' ids because the kit's part-id format does not allow hyphens. Material names are exactly the kit palette names. The exporter writes a separate material copy per mesh primitive (37 entries sharing 10 names), so recolour by name. stripeColours sets how much of each barrel band is stripe versus midnight blue, from thin pinstripes at 0 to wide bands at 1. Like the other params, it changes the geometry, so the GLB carries the default 0.5. glb-lint has no errors, but its verdict reads UNVERIFIED because no requirements contract was supplied. Its warnings are heuristics only: the 1 m reference height, duplicated materials, and sibling-overlap or detached flags caused by the pivot hierarchy.

About the Human cannon 3D model

Human cannon is a free animated low-poly 3D model from the Circus set. It measures 2.2 m × 4.3 m × 5.4 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 2,592 triangles across 37 meshes, with 19 named parts and a baked animation (6.0 s). Download the 255 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Human cannon 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 255 KB: 2,592 triangles, 27,840 vertices and 37 materials, modelled in metres at 2.2 m × 4.3 m × 5.4 m.
Is Human cannon animated?
Yes — the GLB carries a baked animation (6.0 s), ready to play with any glTF animation mixer.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Human cannon 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
