Cannon

A low-poly circus show cannon with a striped barrel and a flared gold bell muzzle, mounted on a two-wheeled carriage with spoked wheels and gold stars. Built in metres, ready to drop into a big-top scene.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Cannon for the Circus kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Circus kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): The big top comes to town. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: red and white stripes #f4f1ec, gold #d0a225, midnight blue #123464, red and white stripes dark #d7cebc, gold dark #8f7019, red and white stripes light #f9f8f6, gold light #debd63, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `stripeColours` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Stripe colours" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: about 1.42 m wide × 1.80 m tall × 2.86 m long at default params. The wheels are 1.0 m across, the barrel is 1.9 m long, and the muzzle bell opens to 0.74 m. The origin is at the bottom centre on y = 0, and the muzzle points toward +Z. The tyres and the flat trail toe rest on the ground. The GLB has 1892 triangles in 41 meshes, is static and carries no animation clip. Normals are baked flat (non-indexed geometry). Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour, and 8 of the 11 colours are used. The exporter writes one material per mesh (43 in total), so a colour name appears on several materials: recolour by name. The barrel stripes are alternating geometry groups with no textures. stripeColours (the kit's 'Stripe colours') chooses the colour that alternates with 'red and white stripes' on the barrel and wheel spokes. Below 0.33 it is gold. From 0.33 to 0.66 it is midnight blue (the default at 0.5). From 0.67 up it is soot black. The value steps between these three palette colours and never blends them. barrelElevation, barrelLength and wheelDiameter re-pose and resize the cannon. The GLB is baked at default params, so the params only change geometry when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. Both extreme cases were also built: (45°, 2.3 m barrel, 0.8 m wheels, soot-black stripes) and (15°, 1.5 m barrel, 1.2 m wheels, gold stripes). three-check passed on both, and glb-lint reported 0 errors on both. glb-lint: 0 errors and 5 expected warnings: material count, duplicate-named materials, non-indexed primitives, nested parts such as the bore inside the bell and spokes inside the wheel rings, and the trunnion, axle and stars passing into parts in other groups. Its verdict reads UNVERIFIED only because no requirements contract was supplied. plan-check rejects the hyphens in the slug-based part ids this library requires; the same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. three-check, run with the real hyphenated ids, passes all 24 checks. There were two fix rounds. The first moved the hero to a tighter, more side-on three-quarter so the striped barrel reads. The second made the view framing follow the live viewport aspect so the portrait viewer no longer crops the cannon.

About the Cannon 3D model

Cannon is a free low-poly 3D model from the Circus set. It measures 1.4 m × 1.8 m × 2.9 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 1,892 triangles across 71 meshes, with 11 named parts. Download the 228 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Cannon 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 228 KB: 1,892 triangles, 8,556 vertices and 43 materials, modelled in metres at 1.4 m × 1.8 m × 2.9 m.
Can I animate Cannon?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 11 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Cannon 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
