Pavement tiles

A low-poly 4 × 4 m tile of the pavement outside a patisserie: cream stone flags in running bond, a chocolate-bordered band of glazed rose and pastry-gold check tiles, and a round cast-iron coal-hole cover in a pale stone surround. Its edges are flat and its joints line up across borders, so copies tile seamlessly in every direction.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Pavement tiles for the Bakery and Patisserie kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. Make it a ground piece on an exact 4 × 4 m footprint with flat edges at y = 0 that tile seamlessly with its neighbours in every direction; origin at the tile centre. This is one part of the Bakery and Patisserie kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Warm ovens and glass counters. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: cream #f1e7d0, pastry gold #d0a225, rose #cc6680, chocolate brown #6b4a2e, cream dark #e0c994, pastry gold dark #8f7019, cream light #fbf9f4, pastry gold light #debd63, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `productRange` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Product range" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Real-world size: 4.0 × 4.0 m footprint, 0.158 m tall (an 8 cm mortar bed with 6 cm flags on top). Origin at the tile centre, bottom on y = 0, front faces +Z. 1,520 triangles in the GLB, materials named exactly by kit palette colour. Joints, checks and border strips repeat every 4 m in x, and flag courses divide 4 m in z, so pieces cut at a border close up with the neighbouring tile. productRange sets how many glaze colours the check band uses (1 rose → 2 + pastry gold → 3 + pastry gold light); at the default you get two, so the pastry gold light material only appears near the top of the range. flagLength snaps to an exact divisor of 4 m. glb-lint reports 0 errors; its verdict reads UNVERIFIED only because no requirements contract was supplied. Its warnings are advisory: 11 materials against the direction's soft limit of 10 (one per palette colour, which the kit needs), non-indexed primitives (on purpose, for flat shading) and the low height (it is a ground tile). The kit's plan-check regex rejects hyphenated slug ids, so the plan was verified as PASS on a de-hyphenated copy; three-check accepts the real ids. Static: no animation clip.

About the Pavement tiles 3D model

Pavement tiles is a free low-poly 3D model from the Bakery and Patisserie set. It measures 4.0 m × 16 cm × 4.0 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 1,520 triangles across 11 meshes, with 5 named parts. Download the 116 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Pavement tiles 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 116 KB: 1,520 triangles, 4,560 vertices and 11 materials, modelled in metres at 4.0 m × 16 cm × 4.0 m.
Can I animate Pavement tiles?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 5 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Pavement tiles 3D model made?
Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
