Floating rocks

A low-poly rock island with a mossy top and magenta crystals hovering above a grounded purple boulder, tethered by glowing teal root-vines, with small satellite stones hanging off it on their own vines. Part of the Alien Jungle kit.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Floating rocks for the Alien Jungle kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Alien Jungle kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): A glowing forest on another world. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: teal #2d8686, magenta #d02597, bioluminescent green #3a883a, deep purple #432055, teal dark #1a4d4d, magenta dark #8f1968, teal light #46b9b9, magenta light #de63b5, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `glowColour` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Glow colour" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size about 4.7 m wide × 4.3 m tall × 3.1 m deep: the grounded boulder is ~2 m across and the island ~2.8 m across, hovering 0.9 m above it. Origin is the bottom centre of the boulder, which rests on y = 0, and the front faces +Z. Static: there is no animation clip. Nothing floats unattached: the island and satellite stones are tied to the boulder by vine meshes. Glow colour picks one of three kit colours for the vines and pods (0–0.33 teal, 0.34–0.66 teal light, 0.67–1 magenta light), and the material is renamed to match. All five exported materials are named after the exact palette colour they use. The export writes one material per mesh, so the GLB has 9 materials but only 5 distinct ones (repeated names like 'deep purple' are identical). Some importers add suffixes such as '.001'. The two assembly groups use hyphen-free ids (floatingrocks.*) because of the kit's plan validator. Every mesh carries an alien-jungle-floating-rocks.* id. glb-lint: 0 errors, verdict 'unverified' only because no requirements contract was supplied. It also gave 3 non-blocking warnings: duplicate materials (explained above), intended moss/crystal nesting, and a scale note from the 1 m direction reference. 2437 triangles.
