Drifting spores

A faceted deep-purple puffball fungus on a small earth mound, its torn mouth glowing as a swirl of spiky bioluminescent spores rises, drifts and fades. Low-poly prop with a seamless 8-second baked loop for the Alien Jungle kit.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Drifting spores for the Alien Jungle kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. It moves: author a seamless baked loop (2–12 s) with every pivot exactly at its hinge, axle or swivel, and keep the base still. This is one part of the Alien Jungle kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): A glowing forest on another world. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: teal #2d8686, magenta #d02597, bioluminescent green #3a883a, deep purple #432055, teal dark #1a4d4d, magenta dark #8f1968, teal light #46b9b9, magenta light #de63b5, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `glowColour` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Glow colour" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Real-world size: the mound is 0.84 m across, the puffball stands 0.41 m tall, and the spore plume rises to about 1.6 m (0.84 x 1.6 x 0.84 m overall envelope). Each spore is about 8 cm across including spines. Materials are named by Alien Jungle palette colour (dark wood, deep purple, magenta dark, warm white, teal, magenta light). glowColour switches every glowing surface between three palette colours: teal light (0-0.33), magenta light (0.33-0.66, default) and bioluminescent green (0.66-1). The GLB carries one 8 s clip named scene-motion. The base never moves. Each spore group pivots about its own centre and grows in at the mouth, rises on a helix and shrinks to near-zero scale before it wraps, so the loop is seamless. Part ids use the prefix alienjungledriftingspores because the kit part-id format does not allow dashes. The exporter writes one material per mesh (57 in all), but they share only the six palette names, so engines can merge them by name. Faces are flat-shaded and non-indexed by design. The exported GLB has 2334 triangles. Params change the model only when it is rebuilt in the viewer; the downloaded GLB is the default configuration.
