Scales

A flat-lowpoly apothecary balance: turned copper column and beam on a stepped timber plinth, with two pans hanging plumb on soot-iron chain fans. Static, readable from every orbit angle.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Scales for the Alchemist's Quarter kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Alchemist's Quarter kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): A narrow street of workshops and odd shops. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: timber brown #6b4a2e, plaster cream #f1e7d0, teal #2d8686, copper #b8602e, timber brown dark #362517, plaster cream dark #e0c994, timber brown light #9b704b, plaster cream light #fbf9f4, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `leanOfTheBuildings` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Lean of the buildings" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Tabletop apothecary balance at believable real-world scale: 0.253 m tall, ~0.25 m beam span. Metres, +Y up, front faces +Z, origin at the bottom centre — bun feet rest exactly on y = 0. Static geometry: evaluatePose is a no-op and the GLB carries no clip. Every material is named exactly for its kit palette colour so the model recolours with the Alchemist's Quarter set; the exported GLB lists 29 material slots because the exporter clones the six shared role materials per mesh — all carry the palette names and identical values. Ground disc, lights and backdrop are viewer staging only, never inside the model root. Params: leanOfTheBuildings slumps the column up to ~4° while the free beam self-levels and the pans hang plumb; beamTilt poses an off-balance reading; chainDrop is clamped automatically so dishes can never sink into the plinth at extreme settings. glb-lint warnings are reviewed heuristics: per-mesh material clones, and 'detached' parts that are in fact hung by chains or bedded joints (dishes, socket, plate).
