Fuel drums
A low-poly timber pallet of four 200-litre steel fuel drums for a grass airstrip. Each drum has rolling hoops, a white band and capped bungs, and the front drum carries a crank hand pump whose hose drops to a nozzle on the pallet corner.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Fuel drums for the Airfield kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Airfield kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Small planes on a grass strip. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: grass green #3a883a, hangar white #f4f1ec, signal orange #ff851a, sky blue #2e67b8, grass green dark #235223, hangar white dark #d7cebc, grass green light #5db15d, hangar white light #f9f8f6, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `era` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Era" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size: 1.22 m wide × 1.22 m deep × 1.48 m tall to the pump's crank handle. Each drum is a standard 200-litre (55 US gal) drum, 0.585 m across and 0.88 m tall, standing on a 0.14 m four-way timber pallet. The origin is at the bottom centre of the pallet on y = 0, with the pump and hose on the front-right (+X, +Z) corner. The GLB has 2,984 triangles in 55 meshes, is static and carries no animation clip. Normals are baked flat (non-indexed geometry). Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour. 5 of the 12 colours are used at the default era. The exporter writes one material per mesh, so a colour name appears on several materials: recolour by name. era (the kit's 'Era') follows the Airfield hangar's split. Below 0.6 (the default 0.5) you get signal-orange drums with black bungs on a timber pallet. From 0.6 up you get sky-blue drums with white bungs on a mid-grey spill pallet with a soot-black grating and forklift pockets, which raises the drums to 0.27 m and the asset to about 1.61 m. drumCount removes drums from the back first. Drum 1 and the pump are always kept, so with fewer drums the pallet is only part-filled. pump 0 removes the pump and hose. The GLB is baked at default params. The params only change geometry when the scene is rebuilt in the viewer. The extreme case (era 1, one drum) was also built: glb-lint reported 0 errors. three-check's only failures there were the planned drum_2 to drum_4 ids, which that setting removes on purpose. glb-lint on the shipped GLB: 0 errors and 4 expected warnings: material count, duplicate-named materials, non-indexed primitives, and hoops, chimes and bands nested on the drum shells. Its verdict reads UNVERIFIED only because no requirements contract was supplied. plan-check rejects the hyphens in the slug-based part ids this library requires; the same plan with the slug de-hyphenated passes. three-check, run with the real hyphenated ids, passes all 24 checks. Fix round 1 turned the pump to face the pallet corner, so the hose drops cleanly outside the drum instead of looping off the pallet, and narrowed the hoops so neighbouring drums no longer intersect. Fix round 2 widened the hero framing and made the spill-pallet lip flush with the grating.
About the Fuel drums 3D model
Fuel drums is a free low-poly 3D model from the Airfield set. It measures 1.5 m × 1.5 m × 1.5 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 2,984 triangles across 55 meshes, with 8 named parts. Download the 338 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Fuel drums 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 338 KB: 2,984 triangles, 8,952 vertices and 55 materials, modelled in metres at 1.5 m × 1.5 m × 1.5 m.
- Can I animate Fuel drums?
- It ships as a static mesh. Its 8 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Fuel drums 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
