Snowmen

A low-poly pair of snowmen for the Winter Holiday Village kit: a 1.49 m three-ball figure in a soot-black top hat with a red band and a flying red scarf, beside a smaller two-ball companion in a pine-green knit bobble hat. Both have carrot noses, coal faces, twig arms and a faceted snow drift packed around their bases.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Snowmen for the Winter Holiday Village kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Winter Holiday Village kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Snow, lights and a market square. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: snow white #f4f1ec, pine green #3a883a, red #c32222, warm gold #da942b, snow white dark #d7cebc, pine green dark #235223, snow white light #f9f8f6, pine green light #5db15d, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `snowDepth` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Snow depth" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Real-world size: 1.492 m tall (top of the hat), 1.736 m wide across the twig arms, 1.089 m deep. Origin is at the bottom centre of the pair; both snow drifts and both base snowballs touch y = 0 exactly, and the front of the pair faces +Z. The tall figure is 1.45 m to the hat crown, the companion 0.84 m. 1,508 triangles, 21 meshes, 0 textures, 0 animation clips (static asset). snowDepth (the kit's 'Snow depth' knob) drives both the drift piled around the bases and the snow settled on the two hats; at 0 the hat-snow meshes become empty nodes, so the part list stays stable across the range. snowmanHeight scales the tall figure and everything on it; companionScale sets the small one's height as a fraction of it, and the stance widens automatically so the two drifts never interpenetrate. armLift swings both pairs of twig arms from drooping to raised. Materials are flat-shaded MeshStandardMaterials (metalness 0, roughness 0.95, no maps), each named exactly after its palette colour; the exporter writes one material slot per mesh, so the 9 palette names appear in 21 slots and matching by name recolours them together. Geometry is de-indexed with face normals because glTF carries no flatShading flag — that is what the lint's 'unindexed' and 'duplicate materials' warnings describe. Its 'sibling-overlap' warnings are the intended nesting: coal lumps buried in the snowballs, scarves around the necks, drifts packed against the bases. glb-lint reports 0 blocking errors; it ran without a requirements contract, so its formal verdict line reads UNVERIFIED. The named views (hero/front/side/top) are framed from the canvas aspect at load time and do not refit on resize — use the viewer's Reset view after a big resize. The grey shadow plane under the pair in the preview is viewer staging and is not in the GLB.
