How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Chalet shops for the Winter Holiday Village kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Winter Holiday Village kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Snow, lights and a market square. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: snow white #f4f1ec, pine green #3a883a, red #c32222, warm gold #da942b, snow white dark #d7cebc, pine green dark #235223, snow white light #f9f8f6, pine green light #5db15d, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `snowDepth` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Snow depth" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Real-world size at defaults: 10.5 m wide x 4.27 m tall (deck to stove-pipe cap) x 3.74 m deep; each chalet is 2.4-2.6 m wide and 2.2 m deep on a 0.18 m deck. Static model, no animation clip. Every material is named exactly as its kit palette colour; the warm gold material carries a mild emissive so bulbs and windows glow. Params are build-time knobs in the viewer: the GLB is baked at the defaults (3 shops, snowDepth 0.5, hatch 0.9 open, 40 deg pitch). snowDepth scales roof snow thickness, icicle length and the snow on the firs; at 0 the snow meshes are omitted but the snow and trees part ids stay as empty nodes. Part ids use the hyphen-free root 'chaletshops' because the kit's part-id grammar forbids hyphens. Geometry is flat-shaded and non-indexed (one normal per face) so it stays faceted in any engine; the exporter writes one material copy per mesh, so palette names repeat across meshes. glb-lint reported 0 errors and only heuristic warnings: material count, non-indexed, intended overlaps (posts, ledges and battens are embedded joins), scale vs the 1 m reference, and a detached-parts flag on the crossed ridge bargeboards, which are embedded 5 mm into the roof (a different part group, which that sibling-only check does not see).
