Air scrubbers

A floor-standing CO2 scrubber skid for a sea-floor research base: a white blower cabinet flanked by octagonal sorbent canisters with yellow clamp bands, plumbed by grey manifold pipes into a deep-blue top fan housing.

How it was made

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:

Air scrubbers for the Underwater Research Dome kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. This is one part of the Underwater Research Dome kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): A science base on the sea floor. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: deep blue #1b447e, aqua #47d1d1, yellow #eecd2b, white #f4f1ec, deep blue dark #0d223f, aqua dark #29a3a3, deep blue light #2e67b8, aqua light #88dddd, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `depthAndLight` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Depth and light" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Roughly 1.56 x 1.83 x 0.95 m — a plant-room life-support skid at believable scale. Control panel and louvred intake face +Z; only the four feet touch y = 0. All materials are named after kit palette colours (white, deep blue, aqua dark, ...); the GLB carries duplicate material instances per mesh but all share those palette names, so kit recolouring still works. depthAndLight raises emissive intensity of the display, status lamps and canister level windows — it is baked into the GLB as the emissiveFactor at export time (default 0.5), so a downloader sees the mid-depth glow, not a live knob. Static model, no animation clip.

About the Air scrubbers 3D model

Air scrubbers is a free low-poly 3D model from the Underwater Research Dome set. It measures 1.6 m × 1.8 m × 96 cm (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 1,616 triangles across 31 meshes, with 9 named parts. Download the 140 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.

Is the Air scrubbers 3D model free for commercial use?
Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
What file format is it, and how big is it?
A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 140 KB: 1,616 triangles, 4,848 vertices and 31 materials, modelled in metres at 1.6 m × 1.8 m × 96 cm.
Can I animate Air scrubbers?
It ships as a static mesh. Its 9 named parts are separate nodes, so you can move or animate each one in your engine.
Which engines and tools can open it?
Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
How was the Air scrubbers 3D model made?
Devin (SWE-2 Max) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
