Outrigger canoe
A low-poly Pacific outrigger sailing canoe with a raked dark wood hull, a turquoise top strake, two arched booms out to a warm white float and a coral crab-claw sail. It comes with a seamless 8 s loop where the sail rig swivels on its mast and the steering paddle yaws.

The brief given to 1DesignTool's “3D object” template:
Outrigger canoe for the Tropical Island kit. Design it as one clear asset at believable real-world scale for that setting (state the size in metres in meta.notes), with its main parts modelled and named, readable at thumbnail size and from every orbit angle. It moves: author a seamless baked loop (2–12 s) with every pivot exactly at its hinge, axle or swivel, and keep the base still. This is one part of the Tropical Island kit (Low-poly style, flat-lowpoly direction): Palm beach and blue lagoon. Use ONLY the kit palette, by name: sand #d1bd94, turquoise #31c4b8, palm green #3a883a, coral #e2715a, sand dark #ba9c5e, turquoise dark #22877e, sand light #e6ddcb, turquoise light #6dd5cc, soot black #1b1b22, warm white #f2ede2, mid grey #7d828c, dark wood #3d2a1c. Every material's `name` must be exactly the palette colour it uses — the GLB carries these names so the kit recolours as one; an unnamed material fails delivery. Kit knob: expose a param `islandSize` (0–1, default 0.5) for the kit's "Island size" setting wherever it makes sense on this part, and keep that id.

Note: Size at the defaults: the hull is 7.26 m long overall (6.6 m on the keel plus a raked stem and stern) and 0.6 m in beam, with the sheer about 0.62 m up amidships. The float (ama) is 3.8 m long and sits 2.0 m off the centreline on the starboard (−X) side. The whole canoe is about 2.8 m wide, and the yard peak is 3.81 m high. Origin: bottom centre of the footprint; the bow faces +Z; the keel and the float both rest on y = 0. Set it on your own beach or water; no ground or water is included. The GLB has 2,172 triangles in 17 meshes, merged per part and colour, and is flat-shaded (non-indexed). It holds one baked 8 s clip, 'scene-motion'. In it, the rig (mast, spars and sail) swivels about the mast axis at its step, and the steering paddle yaws about its lashing on the stern gunwale. Hull, thwarts, booms and float never move. Because three-check exports after its seek, the static node pose in the GLB is the t = 2 s pose. Every material is named exactly after a kit palette colour. The exporter writes one material per mesh, so names repeat: recolour by name. islandSize (the kit's 'Island size') sets the hull length from 5.6 m to 7.6 m (on the keel), and the rig and float scale with it. amaSpread moves the float in or out. sailSize scales the sail. sailSwing sets the swivel amplitude of the baked loop. The GLB carries only the default params. The param extremes were reasoned through in code but not rendered. Fix rounds: (1) mismatched geometry attributes broke the build, so every piece was normalised to position/normal/uv. (2) The square-cut blade ends read as transoms, so the stem and stern were raked 0.45 m and the end rocker deepened; the back view was framed looser so the paddle stays in shot. glb-lint: 0 errors and 6 heuristic warnings. They cover duplicate and too many materials (from the per-mesh materials), non-indexed primitives (from the flat shading), and nested overlaps between hull colour meshes. They also flag the thwarts and the float nose as 'detached': these sit on separate meshes of the hull and float. The last flags a scale of 3.8× against a 1 m reference, which is just the real canoe size. The verdict reads UNVERIFIED only because no requirements contract was supplied. plan-check passes on a copy with the hyphens removed from the ids, because its part-id regex rejects the hyphenated slug ids this library requires. three-check accepts those ids, and all 8 survive the GLB reload.
About the Outrigger canoe 3D model
Outrigger canoe is a free animated low-poly 3D model from the Tropical Island set. It measures 2.9 m × 3.8 m × 7.8 m (W × H × D) at real-world scale and is built from 2,172 triangles across 17 meshes, with 8 named parts and a baked animation (8.0 s). Download the 235 KB GLB and drop it into three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot or Blender — free for commercial use, no attribution required.
- Is the Outrigger canoe 3D model free for commercial use?
- Yes. It is free under the 1DesignTool 3D library license: use it in personal and commercial work — games, apps, websites, renders, ads and client projects — and modify it as you like, with no credit required. What you can't do is re-sell or re-distribute the file on its own or inside a model pack.
- What file format is it, and how big is it?
- A single binary glTF 2.0 file (.glb), 235 KB: 2,172 triangles, 6,516 vertices and 17 materials, modelled in metres at 2.9 m × 3.8 m × 7.8 m.
- Is Outrigger canoe animated?
- Yes — the GLB carries a baked animation (8.0 s), ready to play with any glTF animation mixer.
- Which engines and tools can open it?
- Anything that reads glTF 2.0. three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js, Godot 4 and Blender import the GLB directly; Unity and Unreal Engine load it through their glTF importers. The snippets above show the exact code for three.js, React Three Fiber, Godot and Blender.
- How was the Outrigger canoe 3D model made?
- Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) generated it inside 1DesignTool's 3D template from a written brief, then the design kit's checks verified the geometry and the GLB before it was published. You can make your own the same way with 1DesignTool.
